I PRICED MY RESERVE ACCORDING TO THE NADA PRICE GUIDE PLUS THE OVERALL CONDITION AND APPEARANCE OF THE CAR. LETS NOW TAKE A TOUR OF THE CAR. OUTSIDE-NICE SHINY BUMPERS AND TRIM WITH SOME AREAS OF LIGHT PITTING ON THE STAINLESS. PAINT-VERY NICE LUSTER,JUST DID A CLAY BAR TREATMENT,HOWEVER SOMEONE SCREWED UP THE PREP WORK,THERE ARE SOME TINY BLISTERS ON THE HOOD AND TRUNK AREA. GOT A PRICE ON A RE-PAINT FOR 1,500 FOR THE ENTIRE CAR. IF YOU WANT COLLECT ANOTHER $5.00 DUST COLLECTOR TROPHY GO FOR IT. HOWEVEVER, IF YOU ADHERE T0 THE STUDEBAKERDRIVERS CREDOTHE CAR SHOULD BE DRIVEN AND ENJOYED,THEN SAVE YOUR BUCKSFOR GAS FILLUPS! BODY-VERY NICE MINOR BLISTER ON LEFT ,LOWER FENDER,HASN'T CHANGED IN FIVE YEARS-TYPICAL AREA FOR A STUDEBAKER BLEMISH. TIRES-WIDE WHITES GOOD RUBBER,BIAS PLY BUT HANDLE PRETTY DECENT.HUBCAPS NICE AND SHINY,EXCELLENT RED TRIM. TOP-VERY GOOD,JUST DRESSED THE TOP,HYDRAYLICS WORK PERFECT FLOORS AND CHASSIS-EXCELLENT AND VERY CLEAN,SOME EXHAUST PIPES REPLACED INTERIOR-REDONE BLACK AND WHITE,NICE SEATS,NEWER GREAT SHAPE CARPET,EXCEPTIONAL DASH OVERLAY,AND DASH PAD,RADIO PLAYS,ALL GAUGES WORK, DOOR PANELS-ALLMOST PERFECT,SLIGHT DISCOLORATION ON EDGE OF DRIVERS DOOR PANEL UNDER THE HOOD-CLEAN AND DETAILED. HOOD LINER,RADIATOR RECORED,FUEL PUMP REPLACED,NEW PLUGS,BATTERY REPLACED OIL JUST CHANGED. 259 V-8 REPLACED THE ORIGINAL SIX. THREE ON THE TREE,AND I WAS TOLD THE CAR HAS 11' BRAKES. TRUNK-CLEAN CLEAN,NICE TRUNK MAT,PERFECT PAINT,NICE TRUNK SEPERATOR DRIVING IMPRESSIONS-NOT A MUSCLE CAR,HOWEVER THE V8-AND THREE ON THE TREE HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO PUT A FEW BROWN SPOTS IN YOUR SHORTS IF YOU 'PUT THE PEDAL TO THE METAL'. ENGINE IS VERY SMOOTH AND QUIET AND RUNS AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE. BIG 11' BRAKES PROVIDE EXCELLENT STOPPING POWER. STEERING IS EASY FOR A NON POWER ASSIST VEHICLE.. CAR CAN CRUISE ALL DAY AT HIGHWAY SPEED. SURE THERE ARE SOME CREAKS AND SQUEAKS,BUT MOST OF US OLD CAR GUYS HAVE THE SAME ISSUESI IN SUMMARY THIS IS A VERY SHARP AND FUN TO DRIVE 60 LARK CONVERTIBLE.
