As the title says, the mileage is just shy of 1600. This bike is from an estate whose owner had several bikes, all kept in his garage. I am told he bought this one and kept putting off that post retirement cross country ride, then health issues kept him from riding it. A damn shame, I say. If you've read this far, you're thinking: "Yeah right, 1600 miles..." So was I. And of course "the committee" will never believe it either. (You all know the committee - they're that group of friends that always thinks they're smarter than you, always tells you why you can't do something, why you shouldn't have_______, etc.,etc.,etc. Until a close inpection, I had my doubts as well: 1) All 3 brake rotors look new - no grooves whatsoever. Plus the factory yellow marking paint is still on all the bolts. 2) The tires appear to be original with minimal wear, and still have some of the nubs on them; there are no scratches or nicks on the rims from ham fisted tire changers, nor is there any evidence of previous balance weights. 3) This bike looks like new! The paint is bright, shiny and perfect. ( Well, there is one small touched up spot but I'll buy the winning bidder dinner if they can find it!) 4) No telltale fade on the hand controls, nor anywhere else. 5) Everything works as it should - Reverse, air suspension, radio/cassette/cb (including all of the hand controls), cruise control - everything. 6) And finally, what cinched it for me: There is none of that "Goldwing overdrive whine". I have bought, sold, owned, and ridden close to 20 'wings over the years and everyone of them from about 20k miles and up whined in overdrive (the ones with the trailer hitches were the worst). Please review the detailed photos I have included and you'll see what I'm talking about. The only thing that belies the age of this bike is a little pitting on the engine guards (apparently, the last year or so he just couldn't keep up with the polishing) :(. As you may know, the Goldwing SE is Honda's top of the line tourer. It has all of the Aspencade options standard, including reverse, on board compressor with air suspension, CB radio and intercom system to name a few. Plus they added a trunk spoiler, adjustable passenger pegs, and two tone paint. This one is finished in the gorgeous Barbados Blue Metallic with grey seat/trimmings. All of the rubber and plastic bits are soft and pliable (not brittle or discolored from heat). The tires have almost 100% treadlife, look great for their age, however they do show some dry rot and should be replaced. We left them on for authenticity purposes. We will assist the new owner in having new tires installed locally if you plan to ride it home. If the bidding hits $8000, we'll include a new set of Dunlops (approx. $400 value!) This beauty was just brought to Honda, where a new battery was installed, the carbs were cleaned and the fluids were all changed. So of course the engine fires right up and purrs like a kitten. The clutch engagement and the brakes are nice and smooth. The suspension is as cushy as you want it to be. As you'll see from the pics, the Goldwing bags/luggage and embroidered mats look like they just came off the shelf! The tool kit is complete and safely stored in its cubby. I still don't know why they include the tools...its a Goldwing, you'll never need them! This is, essentially, a new bike. Even though its a '92, Honda only made cosmetic changes to the 1500's over the years. With these bikes, you buy the clock or the condition. With this one, you get both. You will search long and hard to find another one like it and may never find one like this. So bid high, bid early, and bid to win this (did we mention 1600 mile) garage queen Goldwing here on eBay. Or make us an offer (8k and you to get the tires free). Just make sure it ends up in your garage, not someone elses! Warranty Information All of our vehicles are sold AS-IS.
