Vehicle Detail

PLEASE READ COMPLETELY, THEN ASK QUESTIONS. This vehicle is a 1954 Ford F100. The chassis and drivetrain are 1997 Mercury Montaineer. The mountaineer body was removed, front end lowered 1 inch. the lowering was done correctly with torsion bar keys, not just by backing out the bolts. Body mounts were fabbed and welded to the frame. Due to the hump over the back wheels, the floor of the box was raised 4 inches. The Mountaineer chassis gives you a fule injected 5.0, automatic trans, all wheel drive, 4 wheel disc brakes, rack and pinion steering and several other features of a modern drive train to make the truck drive like a modern vehicle. The truck has been driven less than 500 mile since completed. The interior has leather power seats from the mountaineer. They were dyed two tone. Power windows with one piece glass.CD player, tilt wheel, dolphin gauges, Vintage Air heat, a/c and defrost. Interior is complete other than sunvisors. Starts and runs perfect, custom flow master exhaust sounds nice. Body was very solid to start. Lower 6 inches of front cowels were replaced. No other cowel, floor, cab corner work was needed. Cowel vent and right fender vent were welded closed. Hood flipped Antenna was frenced in. Grill and air deflectors are 1956 for a much nicer look. Bed has no stake pockets.Oak floor. Tailgate is original and rust free, but has some dents. Paint is PPG. About a quart left to go with the truck. Halogen headlamps, new fiberglass running boards and nice cast steps with the Ford crest. Here are the few down falls of the truck. Still needs visors, paint is very nice and presents very well, but not perfect to my standards. Most people tell me it looks awesome. Original fule fill was used with the Mountaineer tank. There is a sharp bend in the fill pipe that makes it very slow to take gas. I think a fuel fill through the bed would be a nice looking easy fix. Inspection is encouraged. I hate disappointments. I am a licensed dealer and the truck is in my inventory. Tax and tilte fees will apply if you live in Illinois. If you live outside the state, please ask. Some states require Illinois to collect the tax, some states allow you to pay at home.
