Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 This is one of 30 vehicles being sold from an estate auction. More info is available at www.houseofmouseracing.com. This is a court-mandated auction to which terms must be strictly adhered. Please read terms and estate auction description carefully. A bid on this auction will serve as acknowledgment that these terms have been reviewed and are understood. No auctions will be ended early or sidestepped. No side deals or trades. (Please don’t ask – I won’t respond.) You are bidding on a nice 1959 Cadillac Coupe Deville with 52,000 original miles. The exterior is Turquoise with a nice Turquoise interior which both appear to be original colors. This car has many options including air conditioning. Car runs and drives but has no brakes except for working E-brakes which can be used to stop the car (load on a trailer or drive into a container for shipping purposes). I did drive it around a bit and it drives, steers and shifts fine. As this is a high-dollar car I strongly recommend that bidders come to view this vehicle in person before bidding. As a benefit I have tried to describe this Cadillac below as accurately as I can for those who can’t view it in person. I have no other knowledge of the history of this vehicle and I have made an attempt to get the motor running within minimal monetary and time budgets. Our listing represents the best of our knowledge obtained from transporting, cleaning and evaluating the vehicle – but there are no guarantees. There is no warranty or representation that the vehicle is drivable in its current state. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle by email, mostly during evening or weekend hours. This is an Estate auction “sold as is”!! There are no returns!! The Body is fairly straight with several scratches and several (4) nickel size dents on the hood, quarter size dent on pass. front fender, one nickel size dent on pass. door and several scratches in the paint (down to the primer) on various panels. Some of the dents actually have the paint cracking and some places the paint has chipped away. At some point in its history body work was performed to the passenger side lower front fender because of the crack in the paint as pictured.. Looks like a big dent was filled in, I don’t believe it was a rust issue because the backside and bottom look solid. Car appears never to have had any major rust, just areas that were touched up. The car has some repaint work done to some if not all the car once. Body does look very solid, pretty straight, paint still shines nice. The body will need to be restored and painted because of all the dents and chips in its present state. All the moldings are on the car and are nice and shiny, straight and for the most part dent free. The chrome bumpers are straight and pretty much dent free but they will need to be rechromed since they have minor pitting. Other chrome pieces range from nice to minor pitting. The stainless pieces are nice and dent free. All the glass looks nice, no cracks, scratches or delaminating. Weatherstripping and rubber are good. I did not perform any restoration work to the body except for washing the car and polishing the chrome bumpers a bit. The Interior is Turquoise and is in very nice shape. Seats are Turquoise woven fabrics and are in nice shape. There looks like a minor hole in the front seat midway from a cigarette and about 1” of stitching coming loose on the back seat. No cracks in the dash or steering wheel. Most everything works from what I’ve tested. A/C works (will get cool, but low on charge). All windows work, wipers work, horn, interior and exterior lighting. Standard and Optional Equipment on this car are… Hydra-Matic, power steering, and power brakes as standard. They also featured a direct-acting power brake booster and automatic-release parking brake. Air suspension, electric door locks, Autronic Eye headlight dimmer, power windows and seat, air conditioning (works), E-Z Eye glass, power trunk (I don’t think it has the power pull-down). It still has all 4 T-3 bulbs. Also has the carpet rugs. The Drivetrain is a 390ci (I believe) and runs smooth and idles nice after sitting so long. Transmission operates correctly from what limited driving I can do without brakes. A new fuel pump was installed and the factory fuel lines are disconnected. The float is working and the car will run, idle and drive nice. The car has a 1 gallon remote fuel tank (old radiator bottle) with gas in it. This will give you about 7-10 minutes run time. It will go with the car for loading purposes. It will NOT get you home!!! The engine does not smoke, make any unusual noises or over heat. I did drive it around and it runs good and steers fine. Again there are NO brakes except for the working E-brakes. The original master cylinder was not working and was filled with all kinds of sludge. A new master cylinder was installed but I believe all the sludge in the lines has hardened up over the years. The brake lines will not bleed. I think the “Y” block fitting is plugged with sludge since I cannot bleed from any corner. The water pump is leaking from the weep hole or around that area, not bad but does leave a nice puddle. The Undercarriage is good condition. No major rust issues. Both mufflers are missing. Most of the exhaust from the mufflers back is rotten or rusted away. Front pipes still look OK. Floors look nice and solid as does the frame. I believe the shocks are the factory option air ride suspension pieces. Other info: Spare tire looks original. The factory jack and all accessories are in trunk. Trunk liner is in nice condition with no rips or damage. Trunk lock is very hard to open with the key but will open when you play with it long enough. The factory optional trunk release in the glove box is not working. The tires are Dunlop wide white walls and look to be in OK shape, 2 leak down after 4-5 days. The do have flat spots from sitting so long. Any original parts that I’ve replaced will be placed in the trunk (master cylinder etc.). Car comes with one set of factory keys and clear Ohio title. Shipping is the winners’ responsibility. I can help with local shipping and work with your shipper. If shipping out of the country I do have a shipper that can help make your arrangements. He ships mostly to the Scandinavian countries. Due to space limitations and subsequent auction listings, the car must be paid for and picked up with in 7 days unless both parties agree on other arrangements. If the terms of this auction are not adhered to, the car will be immediately relisted. If you are requesting additional pictures please send me your email address. Ebay will not let me add any more pictures to the ad. Estate Auction Description This vehicle is part of a group of 30 (mostly collector) vehicles being sold in an estate auction. We have been contracted to prepare them for auction and then direct the sale thru the Ohio Probate Court. For information on more of the vehicles, please see our website at http://www.houseofmouseracing.com. Our contract states that all purchases must be transacted through eBay auction. No auctions will be ended early or sidestepped. There will be no side deals or trades. We were told that all of them ran and drove when they were parked in storage. However, that was several decades ago. We have no other knowledge of the history of these vehicles. We have made an attempt to see if the motor runs within minimal monetary and time budgets. Our listing represents the best of our knowledge obtained from transporting, cleaning and evaluating the vehicle – but there are no guarantees. There is no warranty or representation that the vehicle is drivable in its current state. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle during evening or weekend hours. After processing fees are deducted, the remainder of the proceeds from the sale of these vehicles will be donated to 501(c)3 charity Rustler Ranch, Inc. Rustler Ranch, Inc., a tax-exempt public charity located in Ashtabula County, Ohio, whose mission is that of providing a shelter and refuge for homeless or disadvantaged youth as well as providing educational and recreational programs for youth groups from the inner city. Amounts paid for this vehicle over fair market value may, in some cases, be tax deductible. Please check with your tax professional to ascertain whether this would apply to your purchase. Terms: Contact must be made by the buyer within 48 hours. A non-refundable 10% deposit is due within 36 hours of end of auction close, balance due within 7 days of auction close as cash, wire or Paypal only. Due to space limitations and other upcoming auctions, buyer MUST take possession within 7 days of auction close unless other arrangements are agreed upon. I do not finance. No trade or barter. I am not responsible for any fees, or taxes or any out-of-pocket costs. Buyer is responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. No warranty, sold as is. Vehicles listed have clear Ohio titles. Will not ship but will try to work with you if you hire a shipping company. However, since this is my residence, arrangements will have to be made for the shipping company to pick up the car when I can be home to attend it. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and related arrangements and payments. Vehicle must be paid in full before it leaves my premises and I assume no responsibility for damages incurred after leaving my premises. Remember when placing a bid you are entering a legally binding contract. Do not bid unless you plan to purchase this car. Ask all of your questions and/or come see the vehicle before you commit by bidding, because a bid is a commitment to purchase. As you can see by my feedback (100% positive), I describe my items accurately. I have sold other vehicles on eBay to happy purchasers. Good luck and happy bidding.
