1955 Pontiac Starchief Convertible. This is a beautiful original car that has been owned by the same owner for 36 years. It has the original motor, a 287 V8 with the original Hydramatic transmission. It is a power steering and power brake and power top car. The car is in the original color scheme and has had an older partial restoration performed on it. The paint on the car is beautiful raven black, was stripped and repainted in 1980 and has not been repainted in 30 years. The paint is beautiful and it’s a real eye catcher. It has the original lighted hood ornament that still lights up. The chrome was re-plated and looks gorgeous. The interior and convertible top and carpet were also replaced 30 years ago and is in excellent shape. It has an original power top, but the hydraulic lift cylinders are not there. I don’t think it would take much to get it going again. The radio works, but the speaker needs to be replaced. It is a 55 year-old car and needs a little TLC here and there to get everything perfect. It is in great condition, especially for it’s age. The engine was rebuilt 30 years ago and has less than 5,000 miles on it since that time. The engine compartment has been recently freshened up and shows beautifully. The carburetor was rebuilt and it runs well. It has the original Rochester tags on it. The original radiator was also cleaned and tested. The car has been garaged and seldom driven over the last 25 years. It was in a local car show 2 weeks ago and it received an award and got a ton of attention. It is a great candidate for a beautiful parade driver or to finish up the restoration for a stunning showpiece. There aren't that many of these beautiful cars out there.
