I bought the car in 2003, put it in driving condition. After only a short period of time the clutch went out so I decided to do a complete overhaul. A friend who owned an auto garage specializing in foreign cars looked over the car and determined that other than a few minor dings the body was solid and easily repairable. The engine ran very good and the compression was very good. The floorboards were repairable; the parts that needed to be replaced were the headlight rings, front fender lower sections, rocker panels and dog legs. The rest of the body and the doors are very solid. The car was completely stripped to the body shell. Each step of the way was carefully documented in a log, photographed and the parts tagged, inventoried and boxed. My friend started work on the body and got as far as removing one rocker panel then moved out of the area. The rest of the story is the typical. Life gets in the way, not enough time and money and the idea of restoring a car gets pushed further back. Now it’s time to sell it.
