Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Hi, so this car was previously posted a couple of weeks ago but was pulled for a very kind local buyer who unfortunately could not come up with the money he had said he would pay through no fault of his own. As such I am now re-posting it with the hopes that someone else will be able to purchase my baby and give her a new home. So please ask any questions you may have and good luck bidding. Up for sale is my 1969 Buick Skylark Custom which while not a GS is built to have much more power than one and will leave any GS350 or even the 400's in the dust. This car still has the original Buick 350 four barrel that it came with as well as the turbo 350 automatic transmission. The previous owner completed an entire rebuilt of the engine about five years ago and since then I have added many parts both for efficiency as well as fun. To start with there is the Edelbrock 650cfm four barrel carburetor that is connected to an all aluminum Poston intake manifold. On top of this there is also the Poston strip/street cam which gives tons of high end power as well as supplying throaty lumpy muscle car sound. To add to this the exhaust is an open 2 3/4" true dual that starts with Poston headers and ends in Flowmaster 40 mufflers right before the rear axle. The car itself was nicely optioned from the factory as it also has power brakes with front discs, power steering, and a/c (although not currently hooked up, I have all the parts though and they will go with the car upon sale). The body of the car is in surprisingly good shape for a forty one year old car and while there is the usual rust spots on the quarters (check pics) the frame and floorboard are clear and very solid. I feel that I must state though this car does still have it's original paint with the exception of the hood which the previous owner painted black for some reason. Speaking of the hood, it is off of a 1969 GS and the car also has fourteen inch Buick rally wheels from a GS as well as GS badges on the rear quarters (the previous owner put these on and I never got around to taking them off). While many people call it a clone car the fact is that this car has much more power than any stock 1969 GS so I don't know how accurate the comparisons are. As for the interior it is just beautiful with the exception of a few small quirks. For example the seats are mint with only the front driver's side having a few tears along the seams where one sits. There is also no stereo in the car and as such there is a hole where the radio goes as well as where the original 6x9 speaker sat, I've never had a stereo in this car as I've always just been content listening to the engine. Finally there is a small crack that is about three inches on the passenger side dash as well a crack in the windshield that runs about ten inches up and down on the same side. Overall though this car is in amazing condition. I've owned it for about five years and have only put around 5,500 miles on it only taking it out on nice days and never in the winter or rain. I would drive this car anywhere and as such the mileage may increase slightly as I still drive it to work on occasion. One thing worth noting though if planning to drive it home is that at the moment the windshield wipers do not work, I think the motor needs changing but it's been this way for a little while and since I'm never out in the rain it has never been an issue. The only reason for the sale of this car is my need to drive out of state for work frequently beginning this summer and quite frankly I won't be able to drive it and care for the car like I would want to. I will miss this car dearly and I hope that it goes to a caring owner, I know this automobile inside and out so please feel free to ask questions. If you are local and want to come by for a test drive or an inspection please just contact me and we can set up a time that works for both of us, thank you and good luck!
