Vehicle Detail
Moving forces sale!! I am forced to sell my favorite car! This is a used, good condition Porsche 944 that has been in my family for the past 14 years. The odometer has not worked since shortly after we bought it. My brother purchased it first and essentially parked it at the US Air Force Academy while he was a cadet. Until the past two years, it had not been driven more than a few miles a day at the most. I am over-estimating the mileage at ~130k. It has passed Houston, TX emissions every year -- though it is due for a new license now. Mechanically, it has been an excellent car and was in solid shape until 2 weeks ago when the main battery cable shorted on a few of the ignition cables (See photo below). At present -- IT IS NOT IN RUNNING CONDITION. I am simply out of time and am moving in 10 days and cannot take the time to repair ir. I have driven this car 65 miles a day for the past two years and it is solid. The transmission shifts smoothly and has never been abused. The suspension is still tight in all of the corners and it hugs the road as a Porsche should. The interior is in excellent shape -- note that the dashboard is in nearly new condition as is the rest of the vinyl (you will not find many Porsche's this age with an uncracked dash). The carpets are in need of a good cleaning in the front -- but if you add new floormats, they will do nicely. The seats are from a 911 -- the passenger seat is essentially new. The drivers side bolster is wearing through, but the remainder of the seat is excellent. The rear seats are stock and pristine. The rear hatch carpet needs a good cleaning, but the roll-out cover is in place and looks nearly new. The original sun-roof vinyl bag is present as well as a Haynes manual and a car cover (comes with both). The radio has been replaced with a newer DVD / CD / MP3 player (small 3.5 inch screen -- not a motorized, fold out). The paint is a re-paint that has failed in places (still protects -- but oxidizes). There are a number of rock-chips along the front clip. And -- there is a small dent in the passenger rear fender where it rolled into another vehicle. The paint still shines well with buffing -- but it is not new. The cookie-cutter wheels are original and shine extremely well with a good rinse job. (Appologize for the car being dirty -- I am just simply out of time!). The tires are Goodyear Eagles and only have ~8000 miles on them. They run like new and have most of their tread life remaining. I have attempted to do my best to describe the vehicle. It is AS-IS. WHERE-IS. CLEAR TEXAS TITLE IN HAND. I am gladly available to answer any questions -- send an email and I will give you my phone number. I hate to see it go... You will need to pick it up on or by July 1st. On Jun-22-10 at 20:17:29 PDT, seller added the following information: Oh yeah -- have been asked about the A/C system! It is a 2 year old r-134a conversion and is great working condition!! (Important here in south Texas!!!). It also has new brakes (1000 miles or so), a new radiator, and had the oil changed with Mobil 1 synthetic routinely.
