Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1968 Triumph Bonneville. No expense was spared in restoring this bike to be a reliable daily rider. To accomplish this a number of modifications were made that included converting to a single carb TR6R head from the standard dual carb Bonneville head and adding a new Amal carberator. A Boyer electronic ignition was also add. These work together to make the bike very easy to crank with only one or two kicks. The steering head was converted to a tapered roller bearing for improved handling. The engine was rebuilt using an unstamped NOS engine case purchased from Skinner's Motorcycle in Auburn, Alabama. The oringnal engine case was badly damaged to be used. The engine was completely rebuilt using all new parts by our local Triumph dealer. I have all the receipts for the rebuild. The frame, swing arm, lower fork tubes, oil tank, side cover and all brackets were powder coated for durablity. The rear rim was rechromed laced with stainless steel spokes. The front rim is new and also laced with stainless steel spokes. New Dunlop K70 tires where mounted on both wheels. The restoration also included the following items: new wiring harness new oil lines new clutch new rear shocks new drive chain new cables (clutch, brake, speedometer, and tachometer) new sproket rebuilt forks with new seals and springs new battery new Dunlop K70 tires new grips and peg rubber all new fasteners (nuts and bolts including engine monting hardware) NOS stainless steel front and read fenders New seat and hardware The tank still carries the original paint. I couldn't bring myself to paint the tank as it gives the bike a neat "patina". It is faded and rubbed thin by waxing and riding. It kind like your favorite pair of jeans. The speedometer and tachometer have not been rebuilt. In full disclosure the speedometer stopped working the other day while riding the bike. I have included a before picture and a couple of pictures taken during the restoration. Now for the legal stuff. I will not crate or ship this bike but I will work with the buyer to get the bike to them. I will deliver the bike within 250 miles of my home at no charge. Possible further if we discuss it. I require a deposit of $500 within 24 hours of the end of the auction through paypal. The ballance is to be paid at the time of delivery or pickup in the form of a cashier's check, cash, or paypal. If you do not have positive feedback or any history do not bid on this item. The reserve for this bike is set well below what it would take to build it. Please feel free to ask any questions about the bike or to discuss delivery. On Jun-17-10 at 03:50:20 PDT, seller added the following information: The bike also has a completely new exhaust system pipes, mufflers, and brackets. The transmission was also gone through when the engine was rebuilt.
