Vehicle Detail
Up for auction, and your consideration, is my beautiful 1970 c10 stepside chevrolet pickup. The truck is registered and currently insured, and sits in the garage, under a car cover. It is absolutely gorgeous, and pictures do not do it justice. I reserve the right to end the auction early, as the truck is for sale locally. Monday, May 31st I sustained a wicked laceration on my right hand, completely opening up my palm. My Flexor tendon was partially severed and I need surgery to restore any function in my right hand. Unfortunately with no insurance, the bill will have to be paid by me. I have no idea how I will be able to come up with the outrageous amount needed, so now I must sell anything of value in hopes that I can make a sizeable dent in the cost of surgery. I will probably put my harley up for auction as well, unless I sell it locally. I can no longer pick up a wrench, or ride for a long time, so I guess it's time for the toys to go. The truck is obviously one of the most iconic chevy trucks (1969-1970 being my favorite years), and they are getting extremely harder to find in excellent condition. VERY RARE TO FIND A TRUCK IN THIS GREAT OF CONDITION! This vehicle has no bondo work done to it, it is very straight. Every panel is original, no patchwork done. Original tailgate, not aftermarket. Gorgeous deep brandywine paint, with ppg clear over it. Not a $25,000 dollar job, but not cheap by any means. You can see your reflection from ten feet away, real glassy appearance, even better if wet sanded and buffed! Paint cost around $6,000 and it shows well. Interior: -Cab is painted, no headliner. Dash is brandywine, with a brand new black dash pad. Custom one piece windows, job was done very well. Has electric windows, which are brand new. Brand new stereo system, with ipod connections and wired to the glovebox. No bass or subs, only listen to classic rock. -Brand new custom split bench seats with shoulder belts, with custom light grey suede and charcoal leather inserts ($2,000). All new Mirrors, Visors and gauges. Tinted windows, 10% rear, 35% sides. Brand New seals along the windows. All new glass, front to back (900+), custom cut side glass. -Brand new Grant GT steering wheel (carbon fiber wrapped, $150), brand new chrome door handles, and electric window switches. Grey carpet, I have a new carpet kit boxed somewhere, will look for it. Exterior: -Paint, $5,800 -New chrome bumpers front and back $600, custom sunken tailights $1,000 (blazer style, no more ugly round reds), new chains and covers on the tailgate -Completely new front end, the grill alone set me back $1,400. The grill is an ORIGINAL piece, not a repro or even oem. It came off a perfect '69 truck. The owner wanted a phantom (I have no idea why, seeing as this one is PRISTINE, with only two small pitting spots) so I offered him $1,500. He told me to take it off myself and he would take $1,400. Now I have one of the cleanest original '69-'70 grills in existence. It is that nice. For those wondering, a new outer shell only from LMC will cost 899.95 plus tax an freight (between 150-250 dependent on location). -New front euro lights. Pictures show regular driving lights, however I have a set of tinted ones that will come with the truck. The inner grill is painted black, with chrome highlights. Very nice, sets it apart from everyother '69-'72 c10 around. -Brand new chrome wipers (don't know why, don't drive it in the rain). -Rhinolined wood bed, with a solid piece of diamond plate (I have a ridgid Harley, same color that looks good in the back, can't do that with a wood show bed) for functionality purposes. You can actually use the bed of the truck! How cool is that! -Brand new 20" rims and tires $2,500 -Brand new full exhaust system, headers to the tips $1,300 -4/5 drop, looks awesome and sits squat just perfect. Drivetrain: -327 roller motor, block painted to match truck, rebuilt less than 10,000 miles ago. Rings haven't seated, so I was going to put aluminum Dart Pro heads on it (just spent 1,800 just for the heads and hardware, will include if the truck sells for more than 13,500). Hydraulic cam, rockers, gives it a wonderful lope. Pushes about 340 horses, and is very quick. HEI. Edelbrock Performer Carb and intake, electric choke. Billet pulleys, tons of new parts. Lots of paint under the hood as well. New serpentine setup. Honestly I have a 383 sittin on a cherry picker that I planned on putting in my split bumper '71 camaro, but I sold it as a rolling chassis right before I bought the truck, and I always toyed with the idea of tossing it in. Haven't really paid much attention to the motor currently in it. However, with a mangled hand I can not drop the engine in. -TH350 transmission, 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 gears. Headman hedders, with dual slanted flowmasters (sounds awesome). Power Drum brakes, no A/C, totally old school, just like the hot rods of the '60s. Known problems: -gas gauge does not work, speedo is somewhat accurate, but is not stable (bounces around a little), and the light switch needs to be engaged fully to work (if you dont pull it out all the way, the dash lights wont come one, so you must pull it out all of the way until the dash lights are lit). All in all, I have literally dumped money left and right into the truck, and now I am in a horrible predicament and cannot afford to keep it, as I would rather be able to use my right hand. I have to have surgey soon, and desperatley need to raise enough money to have my hand repaired. I will willingly look at all offers, and accept the first one over 11,500. I have spent too much money on this truck to give it away, but it needs to be sold. Payment: must be made within five days of auction end, no exceptions. I have to have money for surgery, so please do not play any games. I will have the truck shipped as soon as the payment clears. Please use either paypal or a bank transfer to make the first payment Within 48 hours. I will need an initial payment of $1,000 per a deposit to cover the ebay fees, and the rest paid within 72 hours after. Please no exceptions, I cannot afford to lose mobility in my hand because you 'thought' you had enough money. Please be serious in your bids, I have disclosed everything known about the truck, I am not trying to tarnish my perfect feedback. I have been forthcoming about everything I know. Shipping: I personally know the owner of one of the largest auto transport carriers in the U.S.A. (family friend, will give me an EXCELLENT rate, in an enclosed trailer), or if you have a transporter even better. It is your responsibility to have the vehicle shipped, I cannot pay for it. I will assist you in anyway possible, but I will not be able to drive it or have it delivered as I am currently not in any driveable state. I have a special construction ridgid Harley with a pumped 80" evo in it. I have one limited edition yellow/white/black 2006 r1 as well, Willing to part with just about anything I have just to keep my hand. Seriously, this is just rediculously heartbreaking but I need to get everything sold. Thank you kindly, and God bless.
