This is a 1983 Honda Civic that I bought in 1997 and drove for about ten years (for you literary types, I bought it from Brad Watson, author of Aliens In The Prime of Their Lives and other collections of short stories). Ran great while I drove it, but my husband and I got a third car and this one, unfortunately, wasn't driven as much at first and then finally wasn't driven at all. It has now been sitting in our garage and driveway for a little over a year now. We got it started late last summer, but haven't been able to since (we have not consulted a mechanic nor taken it in for diagnosis). It does have a newer battery. There is oxidation on the hood, trunk, and top. There is also some rust around one of wheel wells and around doors (the latter does not interfere with door operation). Some of the sealing around doors and windshields has also deteriorated. Other issues: 1) Since we have not been driving it, the plates/registration have not been renewed, but it is up to date on property tax 2) The air conditioning does not work. 2) I'm not sure about the cassette player--I don't think I ever tried it. 3) As you can see seat covers are in bad shape, but the rest of the interior is quite good shape for the car's age. 4) The handle on the driver's side door sticks in the up position every time you open it, but you simply push it back down, so the door closes. 5) It will probabaly need new tires 6) Will probably need new windshield wipers 7) When we started it last year, all lights, blinkers, windshield wipers, heater and radio worked.
