1930 FORD FOUR DOOR RAT ROD Not a street rod, not a hot rod, more of a high class RATROD! Built this car over the past year and have had a blast with it…Since I get bored quickly…(some type of A.D.D. thing I bet)….time to sell and move onto the next project! Car was built 100% by me..I even bought a sewing machine to sew up the tonneau roof cover! Every show i go to it becomes the most photographed car!!! This is a fully functional car. Here are some details: 1930 Ford Fordor Body….very good shape for being 80 years old! CHOPPED 6” CHANNELED OVER FRAME 3” REAR DOORS ARE WELDED SHUT..WITH THE AS LOW AS THE CAR SITS..THE REAR SUSPENSION IS NOW IN THE WAY! SNAP ON/OFF ROOF COVER ORIGINAL DOOR GLASS AND REGULATORS (yes they go up and down) SWING OUT FRONT WINDSHIELD WITH REAL SAFETY GLASS INSTALLED ALL WINDOWS BEHIND DRIVER ARE .250” LEXAN DOOR HANDLES LOCK (HAVE KEYS) BODY IS PAINTED MY OWN MIX OF RUSTOLEUM PAINT BODY IS VERY VERY SOLID…NEVER DID ANY BODY WORK TO GET CAR FLAWLESS/FLAT/SMOOTH…CAR HAS DINGS HERE AND THERE, GRINDER MARKS, WELDS…JUST PAINTED OVER THOSE…WANTED AN “AGED” LOOK TO THE CAR. Homemade 2x3x .250” wall frame with a 6" front “Z” and a 18” rear drop. Current ride height is aprox 6” Engine is a Chevy 454..a stock engine with aprox 35K miles… ALUMINUM DUAL PLANE INTAKE EDELBROCK 750 CARB EDELBROCK MECHANICAL FUEL PUMP HOMEMADE HEADERS w/ bullet mufflers and homemade removeable baffles installed (very quiet at idle) SOLID MOUNTED ENGINE 70 AMP ALTERNATOR MOROSO ALUMINUM WATER PUMP PRO-COMP DISTRUBUTOR AND COIL ALUMINUM VALVE COVERS EDELBROCK AIR FILTER WITH K&N ELEMENT EDELBROCK VALVE COVER BREATHERS TH350 transmission—B&M convertor (2200 RPM) and Pro-Ratchet shifter Finned Aluminum heatsink style tranny cooler mounted on frame Ford grill shell—was from a truck..has been chopped down quite a bit to work. Grill is .500” copper pipe. 1967 Camaro manual steering box Camaro front disc brake on a Ford solid axle. Mid 60’S Mustang Radiator (3 row) I run a stock 190* thermo and temp stays right around that! Spun aluminum overflow tank 16” electric fan…actuated by a toggle switch on dash. Front shock mounts and headlights mounts were fabricated from BBC connecting rods. A SBC camshaft acts as a brace between them Speedo (works perfectly APROX 170 MILES ON SPEEDO/CAR—WAS “0” WHEN CAR WAS COMPLETED) Volt Gauge Oil Pressure Tach Water Temp Fuel Level (yes it works as well…running a 11 Gallon tank with sending unit) Ford 8.8” rear axle (drum brakes—all new) out of Ford Van (1994 Econoline 150) 3.08 gears..one legger Four link coil over rear suspension. Competition Engineering coilovers. .750" heims on radius rods. New driveshaft (custom) with new u-joints Single circuit master cylinder (1963 Chevy Truck) with HURST linelock/ roll control…actuated via “T” handle on shifter Tractor style bucket seats (very comfy) Removable Steering wheel (only way to get in/out comfortly ) Large transmission tunnel (due to 6” front “Z” in frame) Interior is all carpeted Turn signals work. Headlights Work (low and High beams) Taillights work (1939 Ford) License Plate light works. Not all dash gauges have lights…installed a small L.E.D. style lights to Illuminate them at night,,,works great! Cragar S/S wheels Coker Bias Ply Tires (800-15 rear and 560-15 Front) Optima RED TOP battery WITH BATTERY KILL SWITCH WITHIN DRIVERS REACH Cigarette lighter on dash Manual choke pull on dash Keyswitch on dash Ignition on/off on dash Fan on/off on dash Cigarette lighter power switch on dash Horn button (AAAHHH-OOOO-GAAAA) on dash Original gas tank still in cowl..but not being used I have put aprox 170 miles on this car since I finished it. ENGINE HAD 34,800 MILES ON IT (I KNOW..I SEEN IT IN THE TRUCK RUNNING BEFORE PURCHASE). ENGINE IS A 2 BOLT MAIN, OVAL PORT HEADS ANY LEAKS? MOTOR IS BONE DRY..NOT A DROP I HAVE A SMALL TRANNY LEAK FROM THE DIPSTICK (LOOKS AS IF I ADDED ONE QT TO MUCH). HAVENT GOTTEN AROUND TO DRAINING THE TRANNY DOWN DO TO THE PAIN THAT IT IS (STOCK TRANNY PANS WITH NO DRAIN PLUG!) IT'S ONLY A COUPLE DRIPS..DOESN'T BOTHER ME. WILL I FIT? THE CAR IS SNUG...I'M 6' TALL AND 250LBS WIDE!!..I FEEL THAT I FIT QUITE COMFY. SEATS DO NOT ADJUST-JUST BOLTED TO FLOOR. I HAVE ABOUT 2" OF HEADROOM WHILE SEATED. I WEAR SIZE 12 SHOES..YOU MUST WEAR SNEAKERS OR SOME THIN SHOE...NO WORK BOOTS!! FOOTWELL AREA IS QUITE SMALL. I USALLY BEND MY LEFT LEG AT THE KNEE TO GET THAT LEFT FOOT OUT OF THAT AREA SO THAT IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WHEN I GO TO USE THE BRAKE. HOW DOES IT DRIVE? I FEEL IT DRIVES GREAT!! STEERS EFFORTLESS, BRAKES WORK GOOD, RIDE IS A LITTLE STIFF..RUNNING COILOVERS IN THE BACK THAT ARE ARE RATED A LITTLE TO STRONG..IDEAL SPRING RATE WOULD BE AROUND 300LBS. CAR IS A LONG WHEELBASE...TAKE A LITTLE EXTRA ROOM THAN YOUR NORMAL CAR TO MAKE FULL TURN. HOW MANY SEATS? DRIVER AND PASSENGER ONLY. THE REAR SEAT AREA BECAME THE REAR SUSPENSION, FUEL TANK AND BATTERY AREA! IF YOU HAVEN'T DRIVEN A CHOPPED CAR BEFORE..IT TAKES SOME LEARNING. CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD IS ONLY ABOUT 5" IN HEIGHT!! FEELS LIKE YOUR DRIVING A TANK...BUT SURE DOES LOOK COOL AS HECK!! THE CAR SITS AS YOU SEE IT...NO AIR BAGS. THAT IS THE ACTUAL RIDE HEIGHT. YOU HAVE TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR POT HOLES AND SPEED BUMPS...SOME IN MY AREA ARE HUGE!! THANKS AGAIN FOR LOOKING
