Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 This is one of 30 vehicles being sold from an estate auction. More info is available at www.houseofmouseracing.com. This is a court-mandated auction to which terms must be strictly adhered. Please read terms and estate auction description carefully. A bid on this auction will serve as acknowledgement that these terms have been reviewed and are understood. No auctions will be ended early or sidestepped. No side deals or trades. (Please don’t ask – I won’t respond.) You are bidding on a 1,236 original mile, original-owner (bought new March 28, 1964) 1964 Cadillac Sedan Deville, Model number 6339 (4-Door, 4-Window Model). This car is a time capsule that was left to sit in the owner’s garage since 1968. The car is all original from the black paint to the white interior down to the original tires. The body is straight, the stainless steel is awesome, and the interior looks new without wear. Even the driver’s seat belt still has the factory plastic on it. The ash trays are still shiny like they were made yesterday. The dash and seats have no wear and are soft like the day it was manufactured. Most electrical devices work that I could test like the clock, interior lights, headlights, trunk light, and armrest lights. All the power windows and power vent windows operate fast and smooth like they would from the factory. Even the undercarriage fasteners still have the factory coatings such as the body mount bolts that still have the factory zinc coating. The body is straight without any door dings - even the body line molding is great. The glass is great. The weatherstripping is nice and soft. This car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows, power vent window, AC, trunk release and power locks. Looks like the original spare with original jack parts and instruction manual. Now here’s the bad part. The car does have some issues!! Please read the following. Unfortunately, the Caddy has been sitting all these years with a leaky garage roof that dripped water on the driver side front. Because of this there is heavy rust on several areas of the hood and driver side fender. The rust has not gone through the hood but it’s deep. The fender does have a rust hole where the body molding was punched through. Also the bottom 1” lip that is formed over to accept the bottom fastener has rusted away. The body will need to be completely stripped and repainted as there are minor specs of rust over many areas of the car. The engine and items under the hood are rusty along with the undercarriage of the car on that front corner. The bumpers will need to be rechromed. The more you move away from the damp area the nicer the body and undercarriage become. The 429 ci engine will not spin. Most likely the rings have frozen to the cylinder walls. I have removed the spark plugs, soaked each cylinder with WD-40 and PB Blaster with no luck. With the garage being damp the interior also has some minor issues. The worst is the smell - like a damp basement. The second issue is some light mold on the seats. I have not touched the interior so as not to stain any of the fabrics. It should clean up nicely with professional tools and cleaners. This car was just pulled out of 40+ years storage on 5/23/10 and the windows have been down most of the time so most of the heavy smell has gone away. The floors are solid. The undercarriage has light rust on many of the parts mainly towards the front. It is driver quality at best in it present shape but could be restored to show or museum condition since it is all original. There are no records of its history and the owner is deceased. What’s listed above is the only information available, which comes from my observations and the original title. I can’t guarantee any or all of what’s listed. Please ask questions before you bid. I would highly suggest coming out to view the car if you plan to bid as there are NO RETURNS. The car does roll. There is one set of keys and a clean Ohio title. Due to space limitations and subsequent auction listings, the car must be paid for and picked up with in 7 days unless both parties agree on other arrangements. If the terms of this auction are not adhered to, the car will be immediately relisted. If you are requesting additional pictures please send me your email address. Ebay will not let me add any more pictures to the ad. Estate Auction Description This vehicle is part of a group of 30 (mostly collector) vehicles being sold in an estate auction. We have been contracted to prepare them for auction and then direct the sale. For information on more of the vehicles, please see our website at http://www.houseofmouseracing.com. Our contract states that all purchases must be transacted through eBay auction. No auctions will be ended early or sidestepped. There will be no side deals or trades. We were told that all of them ran and drove when they were parked in storage. However, that was several decades ago. We have no other knowledge of the history of these vehicles. We have made an attempt to see if the motor runs within minimal monetary and time budgets. Our listing represents the best of our knowledge obtained from transporting, cleaning and evaluating the vehicle – but there are no guarantees. There is no warranty or representation that the vehicle is drivable in its current state. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle during evening or weekend hours. After processing fees are deducted, the remainder of the proceeds from the sale of these vehicles will be donated to the deceased’s charity - 501(c)3 charity Rustler Ranch, Inc. Rustler Ranch, Inc., a tax-exempt public charity located in Ashtabula County, Ohio, whose mission is that of providing a shelter and refuge for homeless or disadvantaged youth as well as providing educational and recreational programs for youth groups from the inner city. Please check with your tax professional to ascertain whether this vehicle might be tax deductible. No statement of value will be issued other than your receipt. Terms: Contact must be made by the buyer within 48 hours. A non-refundable 10% deposit is due within 36 hours of end of auction close, balance due within 7 days of auction close as cash, wire or Paypal only. Due to space limitations and other upcoming auctions, buyer MUST take possession within 7 days of auction close unless other arrangements are agreed upon. I do not finance. No trade or barter. Since I do work, pick-ups must be arranged after 4:00 pm on weekdays or during weekends unless other arrangements are agreed upon. I am not responsible for any fees, or taxes or any out-of-pocket costs. Buyer is responsible for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered. No warranty, sold as is. Vehicle has clear Ohio title. Will not ship but will try to work with you if you hire a shipping company. However, since this is my residence, arrangements will have to be made for the shipping company to pick up the car when I can be home to attend it. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and related arrangements and payments. Vehicle must be paid in full before it leaves my premises and I assume no responsibility for damages incurred after leaving my premises. Remember when placing a bid you are entering a legally binding contract. Do not bid unless you plan to purchase this car. Ask all of your questions and/or come see the vehicle before you commit by bidding, because a bid is a commitment to purchase. As you can see by my feedback (100% positive), I describe my items accurately. I have sold many other vehicles on eBay to happy purchasers. Good luck and happy bidding.
