1964 CHEVROLET IMPALA CONVERTIBLE VIN: 41867F282631 MULTIPLE IMAGES ARE SHOWN BELOW THE WRITTEN DESCRIPTION Here is a great looking '64 Chevrolet IMPALA convertible that still has an original drive train and runs very well. The venerable 283 cubic inch V-8 engine with a 2-speed powerglide transmission moves this Chevy along smartly and with no hesitation. It produces plenty of power, shifts smoothly and exhibits no gremlins such as leaks, smoking or other indications of mechanical problems. The car stops in a straight line and everything on the car functions with the exception of the odometer. The car has recently passed New York States rigid safety inspection. It is driven on occasion and it is currently registered . The car has an older paint job and looks MUCH better in the pictures than it does in person. There is some bubbling of older body work on the leading edge of the two rear wheel arches and there are scratches and other blemishes in the finish. The interior is original and is showing signs of wear on some of the seams and piping. Other noted flaws include, but are not limited to: stitching on rear window zipper is weak, the exhaust system needs a couple of hangers, one front bumper over-rider is missing and there is no jack, tools or books. That said, the car has tremendous originality and is a solid 20 footer. The floors have been patched in from the top and the trunk area is completely restored. Other rust and pre-existing body work seem minimal. The top and windows all operate smoothly and this is a great looking, economical and fun car to drive. The original radio (which is present) was replaced with a stereo cassette system. There are some spare bits and manuals that will be delivered with the car.
