Only saying goodbye because I am courting banks in NYC and will have no use for a car living in the city. And a cash influx to tide me over until I sign an offer is necessary. Only trades I accept are investment banking interviews. The car has a current NYC Inspection, Registration, and Insurance, and will be driven a couple more times so the miles may go up slightly, but it is just waiting for a new owner! Slideshow of pictures taken today : http://img526.imageshack.us/slideshow/webplayer.php?id=1002048y.jpg Picture album : (Ask if you would like to see more) http://img526.imageshack.us/g/1002048y.jpg/ Idle video/walkaround: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCXZ-Ba3IDE The rundown: I can make videos, take pictures of ANYTHING requested by prospective buyers. I bought the car as an M5 clone with 117k on it, immediately turbocharged it and blew the first M50tu engine at 30psi after approx 7,000 miles of fun and gradually increased boost. I then rebuilt the engine installed a new stage 3 clutch rated to 500wtq and ran it with an open wastegate (no/light boost) for a few months. This winter it sat garaged while I tracked down another low mileage M50tu to drop in and did just that. The car has several tunes available to it, including a full custom tuning system (excellent free software - tunerpro) that will allow the user to start from scratch and make their own tune, or use one of my custom/professional tunes as a base. It currently has a tune that is good to 14 psi+ on this turbo/setup, but in order to allow people to test drive the car and not squid their way off the road I have put in a super low 3-4psi spring in the external wastegate. I have a full assortment of springs which will take the car to any boost level from 3 psi to 30, which will come with the car. I can tell you about my experiences, approximate power levels and recommendations but ultimately cranking up the boost is up to the buyer. Here is a quick rundown on the car: M50tu engine 5 speed Getrag transmission XTD stage 3 clutch/lightweight flywheel Holset WH1C/E hybrid turbo, fresh rebuild by Cummins 3" IC piping Intercooler rated to 700+hp Tubular turbo manifold with custom uppipe 3" Downpipe and free flowing exhaust including a resonator and Thrush turbo muffler Stock 413 DME with several tune options Newly installed (<2,000 miles) 42# fuel injectors NEW 803 Porsche MAF Tial? BOV EMracing 38mm external wastegate Falken 512s up front, Falken rt-615s out back, both have low miles on them 3.91 rear differential Several bushings, control arms have been replaced in both f/r suspension Car is riding on H/R and Tokico suspension, lowered just enough to get rid of fender gap and improve handling without sacrificing too much ride quality Car has M5 rear seats, door sills, dash, mirrors, steering wheel, shifter, e-brake, bumpers and skirts - other little details including M5 throwing star wheels. The paint is black and in excellent shape in many places, but over the last winter birds walked all over it and pooped on it leading to scratches on the front fenders and hood, and some fading of clear coat. Many small imperfections in the paint but it still looks great for how old it is. I would repaint it and get a legitimate wide mouth front bumper. The car is rust free as far as I can see. It has been a southern car for its entire life with the exception of the two years I have owned it, during which it was garaged and rarely driven in winter months. There is surface rust on some of the exhaust and suspension components which is inevitable in this climate. The car pulls strong even with the 4psi wastegate spring in it, gets excellent traction due to the great E34 suspension geometry, good parts and quality tires. Gets approx 24mpg hwy 17mpg town on premium even with the rich tune I currently have in it. (over 300 miles per tank before refills, I've never touched empty). Buyer has the option of buying my chip tunes with the car, or my entire tuning setup - LM2 wideband system, ostrich emulator, tunerpro free software, etc to be able to tune the car live while running. As of now the car comes with a healthy and safe chip tune, no check engine lights. The car has a ton of new parts because in the first couple months I owned it, it left me stranded a good dozen times. So I have replaced a lot - new alternator, starter, battery, tires, guibo, clutch, all fluids, radiator, fan clutch, water pump and other random bits I do not remember. Car has a light tint all around, does not attract police attention. The car also has HIDs installed in the angel eye headlights. I will be happy to answer any questions, and interested parties can come to inspect the car in person. After someone nearly sideswiped oncoming traffic at 10psi, I am no longer allowing test drives w/o cash in hand, but will do test rides for driveability demo. Here are the little "nagging" issues that the car has that I can think of - all of them simple and cheap/free to fix, I have just been too busy with my job search to deal with them as they do not affect the car much : Cigarette lighter works intermittently. Glove box sags sometimes. Right rear door handle is stiff for some reason, I think the previous owner replaced the door handle gaskets and did not seat them properly. Same doors window occasionally stops going down - but it always comes back up. Coolant temp sensor is dead and car always reads full hot, but I have a more accurate aftermarket temperature gauge as part of my cluster to monitor the turbo system, so I never bothered to replace it, I can include a sensor from my spare head with the car if you like. Oil and water temps are IDEAL for this car with no overheating. I removed my a/c compressor and lost it - the condenser is still installed, all you need for a/c is a used condenser and a shop to bend the lines around the turbo. I've always wanted to "fix" the front bumper and repaint the front quarter panels/hood but never got there. I think that's everything that's wrong with the car - it does not have any check engine lights, it starts up EVERY time due to all the new parts, its runs great (occasionally rough idle but... she's a beast. It is what it is), feels very stable and comfortable at highway speeds, and since I replaced all the parts that broke on me, shes been nothing short of reliable. The car is fifteen years old, so expect such. It is a nice specimen though and I believe the pictures tell the story reasonably well - she is a head turner and an attention getter. In my college town people would come up to me in bars and start conversations because they saw me driving it around and wanted to know about it... =) Bottom line is you have a chance to buy a simply made effective turbo car that may not be the most aesthetically pleasing, but is easy to care for and most importantly reliable. If there are any parts or install choices that make "internet mechanics" who have not built their own turbo cars cringe, have no fear - if the turbo setup has happily chugged along for 10,000 miles, there is no reason for it to come apart now. It may not be the nicest looking, but it is solid. Once again - contact me with any intelligent questions and I will be happy to discuss any aspect of the car with you. I have sold four cars on eBay previously with great success, and still keep in touch with the buyer of my last turbo car. I would confidently drive the car any distance. Car is sold as-is, where-is. Pickup/delivery are buyers concern but for the right price I will deliver anywhere within 1,000 miles or so of NY. Free delivery within 150 miles of 10954. Upon purchase, full payment must be made in cash within 3 days - if paying by check, transaction is not completed until funds transfer into my account. Once car is fully paid for, I would appreciate you picking it up or having it delivered within another 3 days - a week after auction end to pick it up seems to be a reasonable time frame.
