Vehicle Detail

This jeep has a damaged engine block! A broken connecting rod has busted apart the lower front of the block- and knocked holes in the oil pan. The engine is a 134 Cu in F Head. Head was machined in approx 2004. Other condition issues: Windshield wipers inoperative, tear in rear plastic window, waterproof engine components missing- replaced with civilian 12V components. (Originally a 24 V system- battery compartment still functional- but its' floor cut out to make room for aftermarket heater core. (Heater core plumbing is disconnected!)) Body is in fair condition. Garage kept the vast majority of time. Tool box under passenger seat is intact- but there are a couple rust spots under driver and passenger doors. There is a tear in the front right fender- and a couple dents in the sheet metal- mainly above rear bumper. Bumpers show some wear/damage from hard use. The plastic windows in the 1980s era soft top are hazy- but do unzip for a clear view. The doors come off easily with a few snaps. The drivers lower seat was reupholstered in the 1990s. (Remaining roll of material included.) Fuel tank was replaced in the 1990s- along with all fuel lines, carburetor, all brake lines, master cylinder, steering arm bearing, and all wheel bearings. A new clutch and related bearing was installed in 2007. The electrical system has been rewired through the years- and was in good working condition until the engine blew up. In the 90s, a glass fuse panel under the dash was replaced with a modern fuse block which is temporarily mounted on the dash. The headlights, brake lights and aftermarket turn signals were all functional- but the after market electric windshield wiper motors never got wired up. The instrument cluster is mounted on a sheet of plywood- but a Willys metal panel is included- with the WO logo. Speedometer/Odometer has been out of vehicle for probably 20 years- so mileage is NOT accurate! Points type ignition was replaced/augmented with an electronic ignition unit- which could be easily removed. The jeep has 6.00 16L NDT Military Tread tires on it presently. These were purchased from Coker tire in the 1990s. The sales price includes a used set of 4 "Gumbo Wide Mudders" L78-16LT which are taller and much wider than the military tread tires. These "mudders" were on the jeep when I purchased it- they are impressive- but the front ones will rub the leaf springs if you turn hard. I will deliver via trailer within 300 miles of East Central Indiana at the rate of 20 cents per mile traveled. (600 miles round trip.) Alternatively- vehicle is available for pickup. Tow bar and safety chains are attached to front bumper- which requires a 1 7/8" ball. On Jun-08-10 at 18:17:00 PDT, seller added the following information:After reviewing this vehicles title, I was reminded that this vehicle is recorded as a 1971 model. Also- it has a designation of 2W, which should not indicate a 2W drive model- as it certainly is- and always has been a 4WD. Concerning the 1971 date- it is my theory that this is when the jeep left the military. On Jun-08-10 at 18:20:53 PDT, seller added the following information:Another thing I have forgot to mention- this jeep has manual locking from hubs- probably added in the 1970s(?).
