Vehicle Detail

I drive this truck to work most of the time. Thirty five highway miles one way. It has a 305 Chevy V8 from a 1987 Trans Am. Bored 30 over and put togeather with all new parts about 5,000 miles ago. New crank, pistons, roller cam, lifters, push rods, oil pump, eldbrock aluminum intake and 600cfm carb, headman headers, distributer, starter with heat blanket, all new gaskets, and heads reworked. It has dual exhaust, heat, defrost and air. Radiator is fan assisted and stays at 180 degrees. Two year old Die Hard battery. This motor was built for reliablity, not race. The trans is from the same Trans Am and I had it rebuilt at the same time as the motor. Chevy 700-R4 four speed automatic that I had a B&M converter lockup installed to get you a few more mph on the high way (I get 17-18 mph). It has disk brakes in the front and drum in the back. They were redone about a year ago. New wheel bearings at all four wheels. It has a Painless wiring harness. The tires on the front are about 1 year old, backs are fair to good. Goodyear 225/65R17 front and 255/60R17 back. Truck has a spare, wrench and bottle jack. Boyd Coddington rims. Power stering, tilt, power brakes. Dodge Dakota front seat. All glass is good. New 2 speed wiper motor and blade/arms. All lights work. AM/FM/Cassett "retro look" radio. Body is steel, running boards are fiberglass, bed is diamond plate, "smoothie" tail gate. I use this truck for light deliveries so the bed is not for show. Gas tank was moved to back of truck before I got it. Yellow paint is good to nice. Some of the show chrome and paint show a little age. The worst blemish is on the hood front and was there when I got the truck. I have a pint of touch up paint I had mixed. The truck turns heads and usually gets a wave or thumbs up. I see a lot of camera phones taking pictures on the highway. I get a new truck for work about every two years and I have had this one over two years. I have never put it in a show because I never have time to sit. It is more fun to drive anyway.
