Vehicle Detail

1969 Honda Z50A K1. Early Silvertag model. Low time previous Shriner bike. Completely refurbished. Ready to display or ride! Vin # Z50A 147662 Engine Vin # Z50AE 147181 I completely dissasembled this bike, and bead blasted all the parts to be painted. The tank was cleaned/etched and sealed with "Red Kote". The frame, forks, and tank were professionally painted and clearcoated with the correct Bright Yellow/Silver colors. Wheels were bead blasted and painted Honda Cloud Silver with clear. All the original parts were meticulously cleaned, inspected, and refurbished. The motor has great compression, runs like a top and has crisp throttle response. The trans works perfectly, shifts thru all 3 gears. The only non-Honda parts on this bike are as follows; Cables, tank and headlight emblems, and the valve adjuster covers (chrome). New Honda parts are; Seat, Air filter housing, fork rebuild kit, for reflectors and bases, fenders, all rubber parts, shifter seal, steering head bearings and races, and much more I'm forgetting.. All aluminum parts have been polished and cleared; Hubs, upper bar tree, intake manifold, and carb. I was able to retain 99% of the original Honda hardware. Bolts have the original "8" markings on them. New tires and tubes; Correct Bridgestones. (the original tires hardly had wear.. still have 'em) It is far less work to buy new parts and bolt them on. To me, this bike is more valuable due to the fact that it is still primarily all "1969". The LH bar has one tiny scuff in it, but it's straight... and ORIGINAL, so I left it. RH side buddy peg boss filled. See the following pictures. Bike is right, and all there. Even has the original (correct) black plastic levers. I shudder to think of how much time I've got wrapped up in this little sucker. Good thing I enjoy it. :-) I'm ready for another project, so this one has to go. The reserve is more than reasonable. Bid with confidence, NO SUPRISES! Please, do us both a favor, and DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU PLAN ON OWNING IT. Local pick up is fine, shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. There is a chance I can score a motorcycle crate to ship it in. Feel free to contact me with any questions. **battery does not have electrolite in it at this time.On Jun-02-10 at 21:11:16 PDT, seller added the following information: 06/02; I just rode this little bugger tonite.. had to show my neighbor. Runs so dang good I almost wish I wasn't sellin' it. Two things; 1.) since it has now met my reserve, It will sit in my shop. No more riding. 2.) I HAVE secured a motorcycle crate to ship this in if the buyer wants.
