Vehicle Detail

1960 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Hearse with 3-way electric casket table and suicide doors. I'm listing it as "not running" only because I have never tried to put a battery in it and start it. It has a complete engine and tranny so any winning bidder may be surprised but as for me, that engine looks a little rusty so I'm not even inclined to try. Sorry. It definitely has potential, this is NOT just a "parts car." Purchased 4 years ago as a project car, I never got around to it. I'll need to move in the next year or so and just don't feel like hauling it around with me. The glass is all in tact and the dash & instrument cluster look great. Windows roll up and down, seats adjust, all casket rollers in back of car are present and roll. This car's interior and trim items ( window rollers, door hinges, etc. ) are all in better shape than some restored '59's I've had my hands on. I hate to lose this because of how smooth many of the parts are. It has an engine but it's kind of rusty so I've never tried turning it over. The previous owner told me the motor turns over but even he admitted it hasn't been run in some 10 years. You can expect carb gaskets, fuel pump diaphragm and the like to be dried out, and it will need an oil change and so on - but usually if they'll turn over, a battery and a little gas down it and they'll cough over for you. The previous seller removed the brake drums because they were rusted shut so it has no brakes, but it does roll. My research into the history of the car is that it's from upstate NY and belonged to the Tillapaugh Funeral Home. From 1960 to 2000 it was kept garaged indoors at all times. Around that time someone bought the car and parked it in the shallow end of a valley on a farm. The bottom 18 inches looks pretty rough but no more or less than any other 59/60 that I've ever laid my eyes on, including some restored ones. The frame is good but you will have to do some body work. This car is registered and current in the state of CA. Not all project cars have this advantage. This makes it a lot easier for the next owner when transferring it into their name. PRICE: Asking $3000 B-I-N because the glass and hearse table alone are worth MORE than that price. Hearse table assembly alone is worth $1500 and I am sure I could part out the rest of it for that much or more. PAYMENT: Real money only. I've had payment offers of chain store gift cards, guitars, trades for other cars, requests to accept monthly payments, a request to donate it, etc. Sorry, I bought it for cash and I'm selling it for cash, simple as that. Check, cash-in-person, money order or Paypal as long as you're also willing to absorb the fees. If you prefer escrow then you pay the fees. Winning bidder has 30 days to remove the car. No warranty, no returns. Full gallery here: http://s772.photobucket.com/albums/yy6/1960MillerMeteor/Auction/
