Normal 0 You are bidding on a 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood 4 door with 76,203 original miles. The car looks to be mostly original except for tires, battery cables, belts, and hoses. It is still wearing most of the original black lacquer paint which still shines and is not checked or cracked. The car still has a very nice appearance. Shiny chrome. Decent paint. Sits nice. The interior is a 2-tone black/white and is in really nice condition except for some cleaning that is needed. There are no cracks, rips or tears and it is still flexible. The interior needs a detailed cleaning but what was done was to get a good idea of the condition of the interior for auction purposes. The exterior is in very good shape. There are many minor dings and chipped paint but no major dents or damage. It appears to be rustfree other than the minor chips and some thinning paint areas, no bondo repairs or patch panels. It appears to be all the original sheet metal it was born with. There maybe an area or two that may have been repainted. The frame still looks good as does the floor pans and trunk. There is no evidence of major water damage on the interior or trunk areas. The original drivetrain is in place but the motor will not turn over. The car was driven into the storage area but it has been sitting for decades. My guess is the motor is not blown but that the rings are most likely rusted to the cylinder walls. The engine still has all the original parts like carb, generator, air cleaner, etc. Car has power steering, power brakes, A/C, power windows. The Owner’s manual is in the glove box. Glass is in real nice conditions, no cracks or separations. Most of the chrome is in very nice unpitted condition. The only items that need work are the bumpers as the rears are rusted out from the exhaust. The car is 50+ years old and is mostly original, expect 50 years of flaws and deterioration of rubber, metal and fabrics. This is not a museum piece but could be restored to that quality since most everything is there and is nice shape. Again this is an UNRESTORED car and you purchasing it as is with no warranty or 100% certainty of any/all of the facts stated above. This is a legally-mandated estate auction.
