Vehicle Detail
This is a 1977 Triumph Spitfire 1500. It is a reliable daily driver that oozes excitement. It has a brand new 20 foot paint job (from 20 feet away it looks great). It is the original color (Inca Yellow). It has headers, a roll bar, finned aluminum valve cover, and a remote oil filter mount with an oil cooler. The mileage on the speedo is NOT an accurate reflection of the actual mileage on the car. New in the last year are the radiator, radiator cap, battery, rear axle u-joints, starter solenoid, throttle cable, choke cable, AM/FM/CD player (cheap), and speakers. The engine, transmission, and rear end have all been rebuilt within the last couple of years. Valves were just adjusted. The top is less than two years old. Door panels and dash have been redone. Carb was just rebuilt. Tires are good and there is a brand new spare. Both driver and passenger have 4-point competition lap belts and shoulder harness. It is, however, a 30+ year old British car. The major electrics (headlights, taillights, brake lights, engine) work fine, but it has its quirks. The directionals work, but the light inside does not flash. The dash lights work sporadically, as does the horn. The speedo cable needs replacing. All the parts to the heater are there except for the shut off valve which is easily replaceable. The seats are original with covers on them. Carpets are original as well. They cover everything, but they are not pristine by any stretch. The front top seal on the windshield was replaced, but it still leaks in a hard rain. I want to stress that this is NOT a restored vehicle, but rather a reliable daily driver that looks great, gets more than 30 miles to the gallon, and is an absolute ball to drive. It is truly a head-turner. For $150 plus expenses I will trailer the car anywhere on the Florida mainland below a line from Tallahassee to Jacksonville. NO RESERVE!!!!
