You are bidding on a 1949 Ford F6. It was originally a Fire Truck from LA County Engine No 17. I restored it years ago, and drove it as my service truck. I'm a mobile mechanic. I've taken very good care of her over the years. I took the service bed off when I retired her. I was going to put a flat bed on, and drive her in parades, but never got around to it. My health has gotten bad, and I have to sell her. When I restored her I painted her with Imeron paint, rebuilt the engine, and trans. Brakes were rebuilt completely. Everything was completely restored. After I retired her from service the engine was very tired so a friend of mine bought a 49 fire truck in Lookout Ca. population 18. The Fire truck had original 2,396 miles on it, and it was still in use. He wanted to put a Hot Rod motor in it, so he gave me the engine, and I installed it. It runs like a top. I installed a roof air conditioning unit, and it still blows ice cold. Also I have tons of spare parts. This truck is ready to drive without the bed.
