Vehicle Detail
Here we have for your consideration a 1953 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible.I believe this is NOT AN ELDORADO...It has one Eldorado sill plate but that's it This car was imported into Canada in December of 2005, It has cleared customs and has all paperwork pertaining to such, but has never been registered in Canada...This was a Gainsville Texas car up untill 2005 and is Showing a clear Texas Tilte. Odometer shows 34470 not sure if it's been over once or maybe twice..This car still has it's original 331 cu-in 210 hp V8 engine #' 536280558, the motor runs but does smoke out of the left bank, this car had been parked for a few years and hadn't been started ....this could , I say could.... clear up with an oil change and a good run, the car does leak some oil when it sits as well .The brakes a poor to say the least, they will work if pumped up but not reliable enough to drive.I've been using the E-Brake to stop the car. the car will need some work on the electrical as most do..The windows are very tempermental and only work occasionally, the 2 on the drivers side are down and there are some wiring issues there....I think the car sat in storage for too long and has it's issues. Car has Power Hydraulic windows , power seat ( non functional ).This car was restored to some extent approx.15 years ago The interior was redone at that point with new seats front and rear as well as new carpet , the carpet is showing signs of fading and discloration in places, the rest of the interior is great, the trunk was also re upholstered at this time A new top was installed when the car was painted,...the paint was not a high dollar job when done, still decent, but not high quality stuff.... Most of the stainless was redone at this time as well as the bumpers rechromed, the front bumper is peeling bad on both outer edges , the rear is in nice shape. This car had been heavily undercoated at one time, not sure if this is factory stuff or ?..Being a Texas car I think has preserved it better than most..I took a small ball peen hammer and tapped on the body supports and mounts and all but one are solid, the tire well in the trunk is good. Both doors show some signs of surface rust but appear solid. This is my first Cadillac so my knowledge of these cars isn't great... Please ask all and any questions before you bid...I have had many cars over the years and still have a few and know what it costs to restore a car properly ...Some could put a few dollars into the car and drive it as is, or if your looking for a car to restore to mint condition ,you couldn't find a better start...It's at the point it needs some TLC on many corners , but still a very solid and desirable 53 Caddy...The car has a few bumps and bruises from it's years of storage..I have tons of pics of the car and its bumps, but will only send them after we've had a chat...I can be reached at 250-612-7084 (remember were on the West Coast so no 5 am calls please)...Sorry...I've dealt with way tooo many picture collectors out there and I just don't have the time for that...Please ask you mom, sister or wife if you can buy the car and have your finances in place before placing any bids...I try to describe my vehicles as accurately as possible to avoid any issues...Check out my feedback and bid with confidence..I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the car is for sale locally, I will not string anyone along and then end the auction in the last few minutes.. I could deliver this car to Blaine Washington for a fee if the buyer so wishes, this will save you the border issues as well as some travel time as well ! NO DEALS WHERE I SHIP THE CAR AND GET PAID LATER... OR MONEY TRANSFERS OF MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH ....SORRY NOT INTO GAMES !!!
