Vehicle Detail

1930 Ford Model A Sport Coupe This auction is for a 1930 Ford Model A Rumble Seat Sport Coupe. It was "restored", by an amateur, about 10 - 15 years ago, and needs quite a bit of work. It looks good from 50 feet, but up close is a different story. What it needs: 1. Driver side door handle repair...door handle hit by truck backing up. Door skin needs light work and handle & latch replacement. 2. Top was put on wrong, and is discoloring around brads. New top would look better, but this top is useable as is. Decorative top irons (landaus) are missing. 3. A paint job would do wonders. 4. Rumble seat back cushion needs replacement, large cut hole on left side. 5. Hood hinge is out of shape, repair or replace. 6. Other minor stuff. What is good: 1. Runs and drives OK. Mechanically decent. I drove it today. 2. Has 6 volt alternator, instead of a generator. 3. Tires have 90% tread left. 4. Front leather upholstery in excellent condition. 5. Glass is good. 6. Battery moved to engine compartment. The car has been on display in a mini automobile museum in North Woodstock, NH, for the last 3 years. The museum ran out of room, and this car must go to a new owner. Actual mileage is unknown. Estimates for new top, repaint, and fixing the other issues come to less than $ 2,000.00. Your estimates may be higher or lower. Do it yourself will cost a lot less. Estimated retail for a decent looking "driver" is $12,000 and up. Note: Some photos were taken inside the museum on 5/3/10. Outside photos were taken on 5/4/10. Since this is a no reserve auction, winning bidder must purchase this vehicle. Failure to comply will possibly result in legal action. The car is available for inspection in North Woodstock, New Hampshire, at the museum. New Hampshire is a no title state for antique vehicles. Sale will include bill of sale and state registration. A $500. deposit must be paid by PayPal within 72 hours of the end of auction. Car must be paid in full, and removed within 10 days. Shipping is not included, and you must arrange your own shipping. Car is not street legal, as it will not pass inspection without a driver side door handle. Besides, only a fool would want to drive a strange 80 year old car more than a few miles. Car is for sale locally for $11,500. If the car sells locally, I will terminate the auction. Although I will be out of the area this weekend, I will have a computer. I will respond to all emails. North Woodstock, New Hampshire is 2.5 hours north of Boston. Note: This is NOT a roadster. The top does not go down.
