I absolutely love this bike's motor. It's like nothing i've ever ridden and it's a total blast to ride. My only reason for selling it is that i wanted something a little lighter and more compact so i bought an R1. If i could afford to i would ABSOLUTELY keep this bike as well but it’s not really practical. The bike was purchased new in July of 2005 by the first owner. It was dealer-serviced while under his ownership (until July of 2009). It has always been garaged by both him and myself. The odometer reads 9k but true mileage is much less! The front sprocket has been -2 teeth since new until this past July, and since July it has still been -1 tooth. True mileage is just under 8k miles. That is based on this calculator: http://www.speedohealer.com/eng/adjust.htm Here is a list of the mods that i can think of (i'm probably missing some): Engine Yoshimura/custom exhaust - Yosh. 2 into 1 midpipe fitted to an '05 gsxr750 muffler (sounds awesome, not too loud or too quiet, and weighs about the same as a Yosh. carbon fiber muffler) Power Commander 3 USB with software CD and instructions (it's programmed already and ready to ride) K & N air filter - under 500 miles PAIR valve bypass (mod to minimize the backfiring common on SV1k's) NGK platinum plugs - under 500 miles -1 tooth front sprocket is installed, stock and -2 teeth sprockets also included Chassis Full Suzuki OEM fairing Frame Sliders Undertail (fender eliminator kit) - stock rear fender and signals included Flush-Mount front and rear blinkers ConvertiBars (adjustable clip-ons) (stock clip-ons available if wanted) Steel braided front brake lines, longer than stock to allow raising handlebars if desired Vesrah RJL front brake pads - under 500 miles, these are awesome! Probably the best street pads you can get. StompGrip tank pads (on the sides for grip) and a tank protector pad in the center Suspension forks were serviced less than 500 miles ago (new seals and 15w oil) and springs were changed, .78 springs if i remember correctly. Forks feel great! shock is off a 2007 zx6r and has a 350 lb. spring. However i also have the stock shock and spring, and 2 different GSXR shocks with different spring rates. The buyer can choose any 2 shocks they wish to have. I personally think the zx6r works best (it's a little longer and sharpens the cornering a LOT), just get it sprung for your weight if necessary. General Info Mechanically the bike is in excellent shape. Cosmetically the bike is in very good shape. The plastics have some little nicks and scratches, primarily from tools and/or handling them. Probably the worst is on the tail section just below the grab handle on each side (from cargo net hooks). Nothing serious and no major scuffs. The bike was never down. It has a clean NJ title and passed an NJ inspection in Sept. ‘09. Maintainence has always been done on schedule and i have some of the previous owner's records of that, along with the original owner's manual. I did the most recent oil and filter change myself within the past 500 miles. The rear tire is an almost-new ContiAttack Sport. The front is a Michelin Pilot Sport which has some tread left and is certainly useable, but may be worth replacing for next season. I rode this bike regularly for several months, and to the best of my knowledge everything works flawlessly, it needs nothing and is ready to ride! My only reason for selling is because i bought an R1. In my opinion this is not a good or safe first bike, but if you know what you're looking for i can virtually guarantee you will not be disappointed with it!! Come take a look. The bike currently has no registration or insurance (it was transferred to my new bike) so i can’t allow test rides but i’ll certainly start it up and guarantee that no part of the bike is DOA.
