Vehicle Detail
49 Chevy Sport Coupe Styleline Deluxe with 28,000 original miles. I have owned this coupe for about five years and in that time it has been redone from front to back and top to bottom. Nearly everything on the coupe has either been restored or replaced. It was a 28,000 original mile coupe that had been neglected over time and needed some TLC. It has base coat, clear coat paint in the original Vista Grey color that was completed in late 2008. All of the old paint was stripped and then the body-work was done correctly. The little amount of rust that was on the car was removed and repaired. The car is laser straight and looks absolutely beautiful from any angle. All of the glass except the rear window has been replaced with new glass. All of the weatherstipping and window felts have been replaced. The bumpers, grille and all other chrome has been rechromed and looks like new. All of the stainless has been removed and polished and also looks great. All five original wheels were sandblasted and repainted like original with the original pinstripe re-applied. It has the original style and size bias ply tires like it came with from the factory. The interior has been completely redone in a two tone vinyl that is done in a period correct style like that of the 50's. It is a tan and brown that matched the colors that came in the car originally. The vinyl is very soft and closely resembles leather. The dash and all other garnish moldings were stipped and painted in a matte finish interior paint that matches the upholstery exactly. A new headliner and new carpeting completes the interior. The original 216/six has been replaced with a later model 235/six and the original 3-speed transmission. I did the engine like it was a 50's "Hot Rod" with dual carbs, and dual exhaust. Under the hood looks really cool. The original 216 was retained and could easily be put back in the car should the next owner choose to return the car to all original. All of the brakes, exhaust, clutch and most of the other assemblys have been redone or replaced. The oil pressure gauge and all lights interior and exterior including turn signals and glove box work as they should. The original heater is present but has been blocked off and does not work. The original radio has been restored and is installed in the car but the car has been converted to 12 volt and the radio would need a voltage reducer installed for it to work. All in all this car is in great condition but there are some minor issues that still need addressed. Some of the things needing attention are: Gas gauge not working, Temperature gauge not working correctly (NOS unit included). Ammeter not working correctly. (reading backwards). Many, many extra parts are included with the car. Please ask any questions before bidding. I can be reached at: (740) 215-0973 9am. to 10pm. Thanks, mike
