Vehicle Detail

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: I have for sale a gorgeous 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. I don’t think any other car represents the 50s better than the Crown Victoria. I love the billant two tone red and white paint, tons of gleaming chrome, the bright red and white interior and the low top that almost looks chopped. This car is very original, it has the original 272 cubic inch engine that runs like a scalded dog, the original automatic transmission that shifts perfect “it starts, runs and stops like it should”. HISTORY: I bought this car from a man in Jonesboro, Tennessee, the oldest town in Tennessee. Sad story, he got sick and lost his job. He did not have to sell the car, but lost interest and decided to sell. TITLE: I have a clear Tennessee title in hand and the VIN matches. ANY RUST: No rust problems that I can find, the restoration was done very well.. PAINT: The car has had one repaint and the paint is super nice. It has no rust bubbles or rust that I can find. No dents, no dings, only some tiny chips that have been touched up with a matching paint. As a car restorer I would consider this a very good paint job in very nice condition, but not a $20,000 roll out of the trailer paint job. BRIGHT-WORK: The Chrome and stainless are a big deal on a 1955 Crown Victoria. The reason being is there is so much of it. The bumpers are very nice with no dulling or chips, the grill is super, the bird on the hood looks new, the long trunk plate that runs across the bottom is very nice, the top stainless and stainless around the windows is great with no dents and has a good shine (If I keep the car forever I might do a little more buffing and shinning on it), the door handles look good and long rearthe side stainless have a couple of minor dings. Overall the bright-work is great! GLASS: The glass is clear with no cracks, the windows roll up and down good. The windshield has a minor wiper mark on the passengers side. INTERIOR: Very nice and redone to original, no wear, the only thing I can find is some tiny nicks at the edge of wear the window cranks turn. The head-liner is very good, but when looking straight up and under a critical inspection I can see a tiny repaired hole, this is about a inch patch using the same material. ENGINE: The engine is the original 272 that runs great. It starts good and has plenty of power, it has no blue smoke and no unwanted noises. TRANSMISSION: The original 3 speed automatic that shifts as it should. LIGHTS: They all work other than the interior, the license plate light even works. GAUGES: They work even the gas gauge. WIPERS WORK AND THE HORN DOES NOT WORK! ORIGINAL RADIO IS IN PLACE, BUT DOES NOT WORK! They can be converted to modern electronics. BRAKES: Drum brakes that stop good. STEERING: Manual steering, the car drives very good and steers easy. UNDERSIDE: No rust problems, the frame and all the supports are good, the floor pans look good, they have the original factory under coating. The underside is not pretty, but shows that the car is no rust bucket. ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. HOW DO THE DOORS, TRUNK AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE: They all open and close as good as from the factory other than having to close the door a little harder because of tight weather stripping rubber. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. WHAT IS MY BOTTOM PRICE? I will be asking $25,600 at car shows and let people bargain me down to $23,600. That’s the game we play, but I don’t want to play it with a 100 people on the internet. My lowest price is $23,600, sorry, but I’m old and don’t have the time to play that game. I will give a same discount if you come to my home and pay the old school way. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM eastern time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles below Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. I WILL ONLY PICK YOU UP AT THE AIR PORT UNLESS THE CAR IS PAID FOR IN FULL, I HAVE MADE TOO MANY WILD GOOSE CHASES! RENTAL CARS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE AIRPORT! WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. I am 63 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 38. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens for many years. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! US TRANSPORT: “No problem”, I can recommend a very large company, McNutt Auto Transport Service 800-755-2324. EXPORT: I like Trans Ocean Auto, they make it easy. 908-788-7001 transoceanauto@yahoo.com I also like Viking Transport, LLC, 757-727-7979 john@vikingtransport.net MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75), so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $500 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake one. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is wire transfer. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspection have to be done before the end of the listing.- TRADES: Trades are hard! No trades please! Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com
