Classic Jaguar XJ12 Series One Saloon A remarkable example of the first series of XJ sedans from the early 70's that were powered by Jaguars 12 cyl powerplant. This Jaguar was purchased from the original owner over 30 years ago. I have service invoices form George Haug & Company for work performed on the car from new.Also in possession of the original invoice Kingsfield Jaguar, original books etc. So much time has passed that both of these facilities are long gone. Quality and worksmanship to build this rare 12 cyl Jaguar Sedan took place in the Original Jaguar Coventry England Facility. I have stored this vehicle indoors for some 30 plus years.Only driven and shown in pleasant weather conditions. I am willing to let go of it now to someone that can truly appreciate this rare Jaguar. All leather seating surfaces are 100% ORIGINAL think about that ..... The car was repainted the original color about 5 years ago due to paint fading the only body refurbishing was 10-12 parking lot dings on the doors. Never any accidents of any kind, think about that...... Recent mechanical refurbishing: Both fuel tanks were removed, cleaned and treated with POR Fuel Tank Treatment. Both tanks were working without any leaks. The addition of this treatment will insure continued healthy fuel delivery. Fuel pumps were replaced with the correct SU type pumps 3 years ago. 4 Zenith Stromberg carburettors were completely stripped cleaned and serviced at that time. The Lucas Opus Electronic Ignition failed twice, this was a weak item of its time.The cure was to buy a Re-Opus Module and install in the original ignition box housing. Re-Opus redisgned the elctronic circuitry to be of a higher output to the spark plugs, along with reliability that when the key is turned the vehicle will start. If you are a British Car person you probably have heard all the jokes regarding Lucas Electrics. The Engine and transmission were removed from the car to replace the rear main oil seal. This was another weak item of the vintage Jaguar 12 Cyl Motor. The seal was replaced with the updated rope seal. At the same time the transmission front and rear seals were changed along with cleaning the engine bay and reinstalling the origanal drivetrain.The A/C system was overhauled, very cold and functions better than when new. I have all new original A/C lines purchased from Jaguar as spare parts that will come with the car.These lines are obsolete and probably impossible to find at this time.The brake fluid was changed every 3 years as per maintenance schedule. along with all other fluids on a annual basis regardless of miles driven. The steering rack was remanufactured about 5-6 years ago. The car tracks beautifully accelerates and stops as it did 35 years ago. I believe there were less than 600 of this model manufactured I wonder if any exist outside of a museum that are as nice as this one. Think about this I purchased this vehicle 35 years ago with under 20k original miles from the original owner. I drove the car from NY to Tampa Florida with no issues. The car has been well cared for and only has another 13k miles over thirty plus years. Just remembered that the radiator was removed and overhauled at which time the core was oversized to keep this Cat running cool, I assure you that this Jaguar runs cool even in the summer in Florida. This is another upgrade performed. I have described the Jaguar honestly and accurately I welcome any questions that you may have?
