This is a 83,000 miles mk I 1983 gti, its been repainted the original color (paint is super nice other then bumper/flares/rear black trim painted over. 99% rust free, the entire undercarriage is rust free as well as all the fender wells, the only spot is smaller then a quarter next to the antenna base. Right front wheel bearing is making noise, I will repair for $150. The sunroof will not completely close because the cables are frozen (this is my fault for trying to open it when i bought it, does leak slightly inside car) and I have a good set of cables that will come with the car, will only take an hour or 2 to replace, I will repair this for $150. Needs a few things to be super nice but I've driven it over 3000 miles with absolutely no problems. Has brand new t-belt, front brakes, v-belts, points, carb. Windshield cracked. Clean title. It has been converted to carb because fuel pump went out (i know what an idiot that guy was) but I have everything to convert back except fuel pump and 3 fuel lines (short braided ones under the hood). Like I said runs great, looks good. Has snowflake mag wheels. I am a factory trained porsche/audi mechanic and have went through this car top to bottom and it really is a great car for the price. Dent in drivers side could be pushed out very easily by pulling inside panel and would almost look like it wasnt there at all. I believe this car would drive to anywhere in the United States without a problem. If you live far away I will deliver it to whereever you are for probably around $.70 a mile but arrangements must be made first. Deposit required from paypal after item closes. Speedo has a lightbulb out of it making it hard to read at night, will repair for $50. Front right wheel bearing noisey, will last another 6mths-year. Will repair for $150 Will fix sunroof for $150. Climate control cable frozen, but I added a manual hot water valve under the hood, so if you want to turn the heat on you have to turn it from under the hood. Could be repaired in under an hour. Will repair for $100. These are the only problems the car has and none are a major issue I would worry about. If you think you're gunna buy a 1983 gti and its not going to need some work you're wrong. Everyone out there does, I'm just kind enough to disclose all issues before selling it. Its old but it runs great and its RUST FREE.
