Vehicle Detail
1948 Dodge COE two ton truck. Has original 6cyl. flathead engine and 4spd. trans. Needs total restoration or cab could be used on late model chassis for great hauler. This truck formerly belonged to the City of Chelsea Iowa. Body is pretty solid, doors open and close well. The front sheet metal was not originally on the truck. The front sheet metal and grille were involved in a garage fire and there is a little distortion at the very top of the sheet metal where it meets the cowl. Also included in this auction are two badly distorted NOS front fenders and a pair of nice straight NOS running boards. There is no seat cushion or back rest with the truck. Truck is missing one rear dual wheel. Truck does not run and brake do not work. Not sure if engine is stuck or not. Truck will roll onto trailer and I can help load. Wheelbase of truck is 103". Other measurements: back of cab to rear of frame rails 106", back of cab to centerline of rear axle 62", total length front bumper to end of rear frame rails 180". There is NO title. Truck sold with Bill of Sale only. Truck will need to be picked up in Cascade Iowa 52033. Depending on location, I could possibly haul with my car trailer if buyer contacts me prior to auction end to discuss distance and agree on hauling rate. That may very well be true since some of the extra sheet metal that I bought stated it was 1939-47. The Bill of Sale I received said 1948. Please be advised accordingly. On Apr-27-10 at 14:11:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received lots of good info on the truck and the rarity of this older version of a Dodge COE. It does appear now that the truck is not a 1948 but in fact a older 1941 model produced during WW2. It also appears that it is a 1 1/2 ton model instead of a 2 ton model. Please email or call me direct at 262-844-1557 if you have any further questions related to the changes in description. Thanks
