1997 Pontiac Trans Sport SE Extended Minivan This is a NO RESERVE auction by a private party starting at $100 because the minivan has some engine trouble (looks like maybe the head gasket needs to be replaced). The Kelly Blue Book (private party) is $2,100 to $2,500 if there were no engine issues. My wife and I are the second owner of this clean minivan, which only recently began to have some engine trouble. The minivan was owned by one family until 2008, and traded it in for a new Toyota. In June 2008, we purchased the minivan from the Toyota dealership at 118,000 miles, and it served as my wife's primary car until recently (we bought a new car). We live in Summit, NJ and the minivan has a Summit Resident Parking Sticker. It is still insured and the registration is current. The NJ state inspection and smog sticker doesn't expire until 10/2010. The photos were taken in February 2010 after the snow storm. The "Service Engine Soon" and "Check Oil" lights are on, and there is occasionally white smoke coming from the tailpipe. I think it may be the head gasket, but I am not a mechanic. The winning bidder can drive it away, but may want to consider towing it. Therefore, local bidders are preferred. The transmission shifts smoothly. This vehicle is used and shows the expected wear for the mileage. There are scratches and minor dings that one would expect, but shows well inside and out. The paint isn't faded and shines well. The cloth interior is neither stained nor worn out. Comes with two keys with keyless entry remotes and the original owners manual. Mechanically, we've always changed the oil every 3-months or 3,000 miles (we drove it about 1,000 miles a month), and the front disc brakes and rotors were repaired/changed in 2009. Before the current engine trouble, we've never had any problems with the minivan mechanically. If interested, stop by, check it out, start it up and drive it around the block.
