Vehicle Detail

Ten years ago we brought this beauty up with us from California, where she had been cosmetically restored around 15 years ago. For the most part, she's been in covered storage ever since. Now I need the storage for our growing business so she has to go. We've had a lot of fun with her, and want her to go to a good home that will appreciate her beauty and unique qualities. As you can see, she still looks great, and can be enjoyed as-is or fully restored. The interior and glass is very nice, and the paint, stainless, and chrome range from decent to excellent. All the electrical items work except radio (which worked up to a couple years ago) and clock. Panels are laser straight, little sign of rust other than a couple of bubbles by the rear door, no visible bondo. The wire-wheel hubcaps are correct early 50's vintage, and a set of somberos is also included. I haven't done much to her other than have a new windshield installed many years ago, and the correct batwing aircleaner. Drove her for the first time in years just the other day. Fortunately I had used a gas preservative in the tank. I put in new plugs and batteries, and she started right up. She has a pair of new six-volt batteries that are switched to series just for starting, then automatically switch back 6-volts once running. This allows for quick starts while preserving the 6-volt system. Once she warmed up, I drove her around the neighborhood. She idles a bit rough, but has plenty of get up and go. Little or no smoke. Probably due to sitting so long, the tranny shifts abruptly, the speedometer cable is noisy, and the brakes pull to the side. The tires have tread, but are ancient and should be replaced soon. Engine compartment has not been detailed, but is all there. All in all, quite good for an old car that's been sitting, but I wouldn't take her far without a thorough mechanical review. Several boxes of spare components such as bulbs, gaskets, carubretor, electrical parts, manual, etc. etc. go with her.
