O.K. Up for sale is one very nice and near perfect 1980 Jeep CJ-5. I really hate to sell but I have a 21 month old daughter who is the apple of my eye and is far more important to me than my beloved jeep. Therefore, I've decided to let it go and invest in a college program for my daughter. "Please understand that because I want to invest for my daughter this doesn't in any way shape or form mean that I'm giving the jeep away." I've set the reserve at a very reasonable price; much less than I've been told by several people that the jeep is worth in it's near perfect condition. I will tell you that the only things this vehicle needs are a new owner and a new temperature guage; everything else is great. I can't say enough good thing about it and certainly can't say anything bad at all. It runs like a top, it looks very good, "I get compliments everywhere I go with it", It sounds awesome, it's as clean as a whistle, and let me assure you of one thing; being powered by a fuel injected AMC 360 V-8 and driven by a TH-350 automatic transmission it will without hesitation, light em up and pin you in the seat. I don't know the exact horsepower but it was estimated by my mechanic's somewhere between 300 and 350. Speaking of my mechanic's, they are located right here in Edgewater Florida where I live. Their names are Darren and Wayne and they own Muddy Waters 4X4. When I bought the jeep, I took it right down to them and had them go over it from top to bottom to make sure there were no issues. They assured me that after they replaced the universal joint that the jeep was as solid as a rock and a very rare find in this condition with absolutely zero issues "everything was perfect"! With that said, as I stated in the description part of the advertisement, pictures are worth a 1000 words. So, take a look at the pics and see for yourself just how clean the jeep is. Tires: about 95% tread remaining 31"x 11 1/2"x 15" (rear) and 31" x 10 1/2" 15" (front) Rims: Very nice with no scratches or digs Lift: Jeep has never been lifted Shifter: I installed a new B&M gate shifter Steering: I installed a powder coated 3/8" steering box bracket (much stronger than factory bracket especially for larger tires). I also installed an additional steering bar support which you can see both the new bracket and the bar support in one of the pictures and I installed a new steering stabelizer shock and bracket. Stereo: Sony AM/FM CD only has two front speakers. OFF Roading: Never since I've owned it, none from the previous owner, and as far as I know none from the man who built it; he only took it to shows. Odometer: I have to beleive that the odometer was changed when all of the resoration/work was done to it and it reads 6721 miles now. Winch: in my opinion is just for looks (small boat winch) Top: There is no top because it's only driven in good weather. Extras: I do have some extras that will go with it.
