Vehicle Detail
BMW Z3 1996 1.9 arctic silver in really nice shapeI've had this beautiful machine for the past 5 years and I've taken really good care of it. Had oil changes done every 5k miles with synthetic oil and have only used premium gas. I always thought I would never sell it but the time has come, for a number of things unrelated to the car. Bought it with 85.000 miles and is now at 110.000. It even has the original 'brick' phone, making it a real collectible (25 years in 2 more years). The car is in PERFECT mechanical condition. Just to list a few things that have been done:- Right after I bought it I had all belts and tensioners replaced, catalytic converter replaced plus the usual, oil change + filter replaced, air filter, etc: $ 900- 2 years ago (4.500 miles ago) I had all break rotors and pads replaced: $460- A year ago (2.000 miles ago) I replaced the engine's valve cover gasket, catalytic converter, all spark plugs, battery and the last oil change (including oil filter): $1150- Premium 17 inch wheels with original upgraded M package BMW rims ($700). Rear tires are BRAND NEW (Less than 1k miles on them, $220). Tire dimensions: Rear: 245/40/17, front: 245/45/17- 4 months ago I bought it original leather seats from a 2002 donor Z3: The seats are 9/10, perfect shape: $760- Rear bumper is brand new. Installed a year ago after another car hit it while parking- Upgraded Pioneer bluetooth audio + handsfree mic installed ($130). The original radio with cassette works just fine and can be re-installed at any time. CD charger in the trunk work perfect.- Bought and installed a custom wood console lid with the Z3 engraving. ($180)- Smog checks done regularly as it's usually a requirement for these older cars every time you renew your registration.Aesthetic / minor things that need work (not mandatory cause it still looks good but in case you want it to look perfect):- Front bumper: some of the paint is peeling at different spots so it should be repainted. I understand this should be around $350- Hood grills area. Very recently someone hit it while parking again :( Hard to see the damage, you only notice it if someone tells you. I'm guessing it can be worked to get rid of that but I haven't had time to research. You could also have the entire hood replaced (I think that would be an exaggeration) but they go for ~$500 after market.- Back plastic window: it's started to get foggy, this is a common thing with these cars. Replacing it should be pretty inexpensive, unless you want to go ahead and replace the whole top ($230) + installation.- Passenger door will not open from the outside sometimes. Easy to fix, the locking system works just fine. It's a small thing with the door's opening mechanics.- There's a small spoiler installed on the trunk lid painted the same color, which makes the car look really good. It's made of plastic and the clear coat started to peel off. Repainting it should be pretty inexpensive but you can also get rid of it and leave the car as it comes originally. Clean title of course with pink sheet in hand. As you can see, this is one of those that has been taken care of and that's what's most important with these older cars. Just do the math on the $ I've spent in the past couple years (this was not a requirement. I wanted to keep it in the best shape possible and not wait until things started to deteriorate). If I saw this post from a 3rd party I would buy it right away.. but I guess this time it is my turn to be the seller. I think the price is more than fair and it leaves room for the above aesthetic things to be taken care of (if you wanted) and still remains a good deal.SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY. I need to sell it but I'm not in a rush. Hopefully it'll end up in the hands of someone who appreciates this little piece of history.Located in Venice, CA.
