Vehicle Detail

This is a 1995 Porsche 993 C2 in Polar Silver a with black interior, manual transmission. I am the 3rd owner of the car, which resided in California for most of its life. I’ve had the car for a little over a year and prior to that it was in either Laguna Beach or Palm Springs, with a brief stint in Washington State. The car was originally brought over to the US as part of Porsche’s Tourist Shipping Program. I have all the associated documentation including the original program documentation, shipping paperwork, import documentation, etc, there is a binder full of paperwork. The original German license plate is included. I also have maintenance records going all the way back; the first few years are stamped in the maintenance book and there are receipts from 1997 through today. Also includes the original 4 warranty, service, maintenance and customer information books, both sets of keys along with the extra valet key. This was I of 3 911’s the original owner had and was primarily his wife’s daily driver and then became a spare car for them in Palm Springs. It appears to have led a pretty relaxed life. I have kept all of the maintenance up and in addition to having put in a brand new shift linkage last year the previous owner spent over $15k including resealing the engine and anything else required, which in total lifetime receipts show over $30k of work performed. As you would expect the car drives very well, is very tight. Everything works like it should. Now this car is 23 years old and is not perfect; here is the list of things that I am aware of. There is some oil seeping from the timing chain covers. It’s pretty frustrating to have the engine sealed and somehow miss something as obvious as the timing chain covers. The prior owner mentioned they switched mechanics after that – but there it is. The interior looks very clean but has the wear you would assume from it’s age; the driver seat bolster is wearing (small hole) as you can see in the photos and the dash does have some cracking from the time it spent sitting out in Palm Springs. The radio is after market. The exterior is pretty much original with the exception of the front bumper ($450 receipt for repaint in 2002) and 2 small quarter size spots that the previous owner attempted to “touch up” which doesn’t work well with a clear coat. There are some other areas where the clear coat has deteriorated and can be seen in a certain light. There are also some chips on the driver door handle and threshold where I assume rings and heels (the car was driven by the owner’s wife) did some damage and the wheels could do with being repainted. The front of the hood also has some spidering as does the lower air dam. I decided against painting any of this as personally I have been less concerned about driving it. Just my preference of course. For those wondering why I am selling; I do have another 911 for a daily driver so this isn’t getting driven much as is apparent from the mileage and I’m not a collector; I have had 3 other 911’s all of which I have enjoyed and passed on to others. The car had an oil change less than 1000 miles ago and I am also happy to discuss with anyone or provide additional photos. Just FYI, the picture of the crack in the front (plastic) bumper by the left light lens is about 2.5" tall to give a feel for the size of it. Not noticeable unless you are up close. If you want a PPI please have it done prior to the end of the auction. I have no issue with anyone wanting to see what they have bought before driving it away and l am also happy to discuss any specific concerns you may have; but I have bought and sold enough cars to know that anyone buying before first doing their due diligence isn't doing themselves (or me) any favors. I have a Buy It Now price as that is the exact price it will take to stop the auction. I also won’t reveal the reserve. That should take care of at least half the questions
