Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a very well cared for 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with approx 105,211 original miles. A 12+ month ground up professional restoration process of this Grand Wagoneer is 95+ percent complete - and this Grand Wagoneer is now being offered for sale. If you are looking for a 30+ year old frame off restoration Grand Wagoneer that has never left the Mojave Desert and has been in an arid climate its entire life then this Grand Wagoneer may not be for you. Those Wagoneers are for sale on Wagoneer Master between $63,000 and $79,000 and sell very quickly (feel free to visit their website for confirmation). Last Christmas a Grand Wagoneer listed on the back cover of the Castaway catalog sold for $79,000 cash in less than 48 hours. This Grand Wagoneer has been a daily driver from 1987 until today - and I am the second owner. The first owner of this Wagoneer was the President and CEO of Weleski Moving and Storage in Pittsburgh - who purchased it with 2 miles on the odometer in 1987 - and stored and maintained the vehicle extremely well for 30+ years. This Grand Wagoneer was just driven round-trip from Pittsburgh to the White Mountains of New Hampshire with no mechanical issues or leaks of any kind. I have been restoring Jeeps since 1975 with Professional Restoration Teams and this is almost certainly the last Jeep that I will ever restore due to my age and health. My Jeep restorations are highly desired by buyers - and are often pre-sold before I begin my restoration - and I have more than 1,011 positive feedback on eBay sine 1999 - so you can bid with confidence. I have substantially more than $25,000+ invested in the restoration of this Grand Wagoneer. All of the mechanical work done to this 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer was completed ONLY by Professional Certified Auto Mechanics - and only the highest grade parts and materials were used during the course of the restoration process. I have all of the paperwork of work done to this car in a binder and will include it with purchase. The restoration of this 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer would not have been possible without the following restoration Team : Harts Run Auto, Glenshaw, PA ( lead mechanic)Boyd's Antique Auto Restoration, Glenshaw, PA (wiring)Sewickley Paint, Pittsburgh, PA (auto paint)Wagoneer Master, Texas (parts) Wagoneer World, Texas (wood grain decals and molding)Team Grand Wagoneer, Wisconsin (parts)Team Nutz LLC, Pittsburgh, PA (audio and decal application)Montana Overland, Montana (parts)McGowan Auto Upholstery, Pittsburgh, PA (upholstery)The following is a PARTIAL list of the new and reconditioned items that were installed during the restoration process of this 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer :Two coats of clear coat over four coats of Jeep Grand Wagoneer Burgundy acrylic polyurethane pain (exact match to factory original) applied after it was sanded down to bare metal and then sand blasted to remove all rust New wood grain decals and molding (original decals and molding removed with heat guns - and then new decals and molding was purchased from Wagon Master and Professionally installed using lasers for accuracy) Completely rebuilt factory original carburetorMost of the vehicle has been completely rewiredNew alternator, coil, distributor cap, spark plugs and wiresNew fuel tank, skid plate, skid mounts, straps, sending unit and wiringAll new ball joints, rotors, calipers, drums, wheel cylinders, parking brake, etc All new brake lines etcNew power brake boosterNew rear Gasmatic shock absorbers New NOS Fog Lamps and wiring etc New Duralast battery, positive and negative cables and battery hold downAll fluids have been drained and refilled with new fluids New solenoid and new starterAll new engine hoses and clampsNew driver's side front and rear floor boardsNew in-dash head unitNew front tireNew hood insulation installedNew rear window lift assembly and mechanically rebuiltDriver side seat reupholstered - identical match to factory originalFactory original radio rebuiltNew cruise/wiper/turn signal control armEngine professionally steam cleaned and undercarriage undercoatedNew headlights, wipers, etcNew gas cap The following minor items are required to complete the vehicle restoration : -You will need to purchase a new spare tire (original spare is missing) -All 30+ year old window motors are very tired and very slow. The tailgate and passenger door motors were working until a few weeks ago - and I would recommend that all motors be replaced (new window motors cost between $49 and $69 on any auto parts website - and are very easily installed) -A/C was blowing ice cold until the blower motor relay decided not to work earlier this year - I am including the parts for this repair to be made (the AC blower motor relay is the equivalent of a fuse located on the fuse panel) -Cruise control does not work because the yellow cruise control module has malfunctioned - I have one that I will include with purchase (very easily installed by any mechanic in under 30 minutes) -Power side mirror control switch does not work all the time because of poor wiring connection (corrosion) - any auto electric shop should be able to diagnose and repair this for less than $ 150 -The Y-Pipe connection of the exhaust has cracked and will need to be replaced at a cost of $250 (which I was quoted). This causes the Wagoneer exhaust to sound very loud. At the risk of sounding a bit arrogant (which I'm definitely not) - I will not be discounting the price of the Wagoneer by $5,000 because of a $250 repair. I will however work with any buyer to have it repaired by by main mechanic for a cost of $250 in advance of any new buyer receiving the Wagoneer. -Two decals “V-8” and “Grand Wagoneer” and currently on the car, but the rest have not been put on due to cold weather and my health. I will include the other NOS decals with purchase (which are in the glove box - and installed with any auto epoxy or glue) I am more than happy to work with the buyer to have the vehicle shipped thru Quicken Auto - or the shipper of your choice. The tires are in VERY GOOD condition and the 4WD High and Low have been tested and work perfectly. My starting bid is very low - and I will accept Cashier's Check, Money Order, Bank Wire or Cash (no PayPal) as payment within 7 days after the auction closes - no exception. Here is a video of the engine and starting it when it was warm: https://youtu.be/azKZfDGaMlU Thank you and bid with confidence - you will be very pleased with your purchase and the pleasure you will receive from ownership of the Grand Wagoneer.
