BRING A TRAILER - for real. Car does not run and drive. It is a project car.I am reluctantly selling my 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This year and model is well-known as being the same as the car "KITT" from the TV show Knight Rider. I purchased this car in 2013 with the intention to restore it as a replica of the TV car, but the project just hasn't materialized and I think it's time to admit defeat. My loss is your gain. The car is in pretty rough shape from sitting. It hasn't been run in a couple years, but it did run and drive when parked. Rear brakes need work. Pedal is mushy. Heck at this point, plan to address pretty much everything. I do think the car could be a recoverable driver for the handy person with time on their hands to dedicate to it. Pretty much all original. 160,000 miles or so, with original muffler, interior, etc. Seats are the correct KITT PMD seats. Has 14 inch turbo cast wheels (KITT style) but the center caps are missing. Rust hole and corrosion in the driver rear quarter. Hood and hatch struts old and do not hold. The interior is starting to show some mold from the heavy rains we had this summer. This car has the 4 barrel 305 V8, versus the CFI version of the motor. It does not have the turbo cowl hood, instead having a flat hood. VERY rare for an 82 trans am. I am told that some of the 82s got the flat hood as a result of not having enough turbo hoods to meet production. Brakes in the rear are drums.Great platform for a KITT replica as it's got a lot of the right TV car parts already. Or buy it and use it as a parts car (fenders, etc.) for your KITT conversion.
