Vehicle Detail
4039 of these were made from 1998-2001 making it a rare car that will go up in value. I purchased it on a whim in January, and already have an E38 and do not need (2). I replaced a DME and secured it in the Ebox & added some padding. OSV's are new, glass headlamp lens, and a few other parts under the hood. The headliner and "A" pillars have also been recovered. The A/C was serviced in July and works perfect as does the heat. The only thing not reading is the temp gauge in the cluster. I have an extra cluster Ill give away with the car, may just be a sensor. The heads up display does read the the engine temp, you'll see a photo in the album. It was built 7/23/98 and came with navigation. I was able to upgrade it to the 16:9 screen and the MK4 DVD nav. The rear 1/4 shade on driver side is missing & the thin chrome between the shade and the panel on the passenger rear. Rear speakers need new foam, which I will supply. New fuel filter as well has been installed. Pass side was painted at some point from being keyed. Hood and driver fender show oxidation. One dent on driver door and a couple of dings. PDR would remedy easily. The interior of this car is flat out amazing. It has been well loved. I have a video and 125 pics available. Owner (1) was Bob Barker, owner of a large dealership in VA. It was his personal car. He later sold it to a friend of his (2) who always admired it, who owned several Italian eateries in Norfolk, VA. Both were clearly car guys and took great care of the car until the later passed away a few years ago. I purchased it from the corporation/family. Records were not transferred with the sale, but the vehicles provenance was enough for me to know it was cared for and adult driven/maintained. This model is better to own than the face lift version (99-01) because it does not have the dual battery setup which typically has issues due to the module that controls them, nor does it have the E-KAT system, which is a system that heats the converters for 2 minutes while the engine is cold. Neither of these modules is sold anymore; with this car don't have that worry. This is also one of the last pre-facelift cars off the line. To be near perfect it needs a re-spray. It drives fantastic. No mechanical issues. I wish I could paint it and put it on display for a few years. The price reflects the need of a paint job, nothing more. If I painted it I would be asking over $12k 7 min video - driving etc - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-su4JHLkNQQ&t=9s(PS: the heads up display gives me the temp, so when I accelerated it was operating temp) 125 pics - can send link via message - eBay wont allow - Google album
