This was a 3rd car for my family for the last 2.5 yrs. We decided to lease a new SUV so I need to make room in our driveway. I purchased this wagon from one of the senior techs at European Automotive Solutions in Waltham Mass. They serviced this car for almost all its post warranty life. He ended up buying it for his wife to use to shuttle the kids. Having known him I knew it was well cared for and a solid car to buy.We still stay in touch. Under his ownership ( 2013-15 ) he replaced the entire fuel tank system with a factory OEM unit as this was a Mercedes Recall that all W211 E classes qualify for if there is a leak determined. Another bonus is that the problematic factory Airmatic suspension has been replaced with standard coils over struts suspension done at about 165K miles along with tie rods, bushings, etc...so it rides very nice and quiet. The paint is black metallic which is still nice but has scratches and some dents here and there, commensurate to a car with these miles . The interior is clean but shows some wear on the front seats but will clean up if detailed. This is a non-smokers car so it smells neutral inside, no funny odors. During my ownership, I had the water pump replaced at Keeler Mercedes Benz in Latham NY along with the front brake lines. They also did a service and SBC brake system flush and coolant flush. In 2017 I had a new front windshield installed at Safelite Auto Glass as the old one was tired and too pitted. Everything works in the car. Navigation, AC, Heater, all the power functions as well as the cooled seats. I recently got a CEL for the EGR Valve ( P0044 code ) and that was replaced last week. They also did an oil change with Gulf 5w-30 full synthetic and a transfer case flush and fill as it occasionally makes a noise when making U Turns. I don't quite have the time to drive it to set readiness monitors so it needs to be driven at least 150+ miles for it to do so. The tires still have plenty of life left at 6/32nds. They are 235 35 19 All season Nankangs on AZOR 19 inch wheels. I will be listing in a separate auction the 17 inch factory wheels with 1 season old Cooper Snow tires. This E500 was unstoppable in snow. Its phenomenal how no amount of sleet or snow will deter this beast. This is THE car we drove during a storm when we needed to get somewhere. Even though the car has 200K miles on it, everyone who's driven it is shocked as it truly drives like it has 40,000 miles on it. Still accelerates very fast. No vibrations at any speed, drives straight as an arrow and very quiet. It's a Mercedes after all. No leaks and the engine has no funny sounds or smells. This was essentially our truck. We used it on a few long distance trips to Rhode Island where we spend a fair amount of time, and it was my Home Depot vehicle as well. I can't imagine that it would have any issue going another 200K miles. There are several Merc's that are over 300K miles with this same M113 motor and transmission. My opening bid is a bargain all things considered. I actually still owe on it but can easily pay off the balance of the loan and get a lien release.
