Vehicle Detail

I have a beautiful 2001 F-250 pickup with the Lariat package and the coveted 7.3L diesel engine in it. Many people say that the 7.3 was the greatest engine ever built. They last forever, are cheap to fix, and have a ton of power! THIS is the engine that everyone still wants. Apart from the engine, this truck is one-of-a-kind with MANY extras and upgrades: First- This truck has the Golden Fuel Systems (http://www.goldenfuelsystems.com/) WVO kit that was professionally installed by Danny Smith at Carolina Greasle. This is my 3rd vehicle that I have had a Golden Fuel kit on and will not be my last. I love these conversions- I have not had to buy fuel since 2006! These kits are amazing! The kit includes a (heated) auxiliary fuel tank that can be filled with diesel, biodiesel, waste vegetable oil (WVO), or any combination of these. This gives an extended range whether you choose to use WVO or not. Just as an example, with both tanks full I get around 11 hours of interstate driving without needing to stop for fuel! The kit also includes new heated fuel lines, heated WVO filter, upgraded fuel pump, a fuel control manifold, and a switch in the cab that lets you choose which tank to use. The original diesel tank and fuel system remain untouched, so if you decide to not use your AUX WVO tank it is like a stock truck. I tend to keep the stock tank full and only use the WVO tank, but it is up to you. This kit came in handy during the recent hurricane. Gasoline was sold out at every gas station in town. Diesel ran out shortly after. If the hurricane had knocked out power for an extended period, I would have been fine because this truck does not need a gas station or electricity to fuel up. In an emergency situation, there are hundreds of restaurants in the area with WVO tanks behind them. I am also including my "One Shot" filtration system in the sale (http://www.goldenfuelsystems.com/products/gfs-products/#!/One-Shot-Filtration-Unit/p/2047104/category=563879 ). This portable, self-powered box takes the WVO and removes the moisture then filters it, converting it to fuel-grade WVO all in one shot. Put one end of the hose in the restaurant WVO tank and the other end in your WVO tank filler and you are good to go! As if that wasn't enough, there are plenty of other upgrades to the truck:The first owner was a diesel mechanic in Charleston, SC and he installed a lift and upgraded the turbo, intercooler, air intake, and installed a new exhaust system. This thing sounds like a spaceship! (See video) It runs like a champ and has more power than I could ever hope to use!It has 2 different gauge consoles installed. One on the pillar is for the engine and has a boost pressure gauge, exhaust temperature gauge, and transmission temperature gauge. The second set of gauges is above the mirror and is for the WVO system. These include an aux tank fuel gauge and fuel line vacuum gauge. This truck has a TS performance 6-Position chip. The positions are 1- Stock 2- High Idle 3- 50HP 4- 75HP 5- 100HP 6- 140HP. Just turn the dial to the power you want and the chip does the rest including adjusting the transmission shift points. The transmission needed to be replaced last summer (Reverse was slipping) so I had a completely new transmission installed and upgraded it with heavy duty shift points that are computer controlled and synced to the TS chip. This transmission is brand new and still under warranty. This thing is like a rocket! I also upgraded to a larger (6.0) 30 loop transmission cooler (Stock is 7 Loop) so it runs cool even in the most extreme Carolina-Georgia summers The center console of the truck was removed and replaced with a refrigerated console that is wired into the truck. This comes in handy on long road trips! Put a few sandwiches and drinks in there and they stay cool! I was on the road a lot, so I set this up to be the ultimate highway machine. The headlights were upgraded to HID (White) and all other lights were replaced with LEDs. It also has a LED bar in the front, 2 LED pods in the rear, and LED pods underneath for maneuvering in the dark. These are great if you pull a trailer and need to set up at night. The paint is not bad, considering it is a 17 year old truck with 333,000 miles on it. No rust at all, but a few scratches here and there, as would be expected. All power items work great! Power windows, seats, mirrors, and the air conditioning will freeze you out! The bed is lined and the tonneau cover is included. The radio is a Sony XPloid with video, bluetooth, navigation-link, and all of the options you could possibly want in a vehicle entertainment system. It plays music, plays DVDs, reads SD cards, USB drives, and links to your phone to play videos and navigation from there if you want. It also has an adjustable powered Kenwood subwoofer and ports for USB charging and aux inputs. I have only ever used Rotella fully synthetic oil in it and fully synthetic transmission fluid because I wanted it to last forever. Known issues:The tires are going to need to be replaced soon. I was going to wait until the Spring, but now you can use it as an opportunity to get the tires you want. The brakes are starting to go. I can occasionally feel a warp in the rotors under heavy braking. It hasn't been bad enough to change them yet, but I can tell they are going and will need to be replaced in the next year or so. There is a parasitic drain the electrical system. It isn't extreme, but it is there. If you drive it at least once a week you will be fine, but if you have extended periods of it being parked you will want to hook it up to a trickle charger. I was on vacation for 10 days this summer, and it started when I got home. It cranked slow, but it started. The leather is worn. I have always had the seats covered (yes- the seat covers in the pictures are included) but they are still not something you would want to show off. The truck has stickers and decals on it. I can remove them if you want- just let me know. What can I say- I like stickers! Overall, I love this truck. It has made me extremely happy in the time I have owned it. I am selling it because I did work in Atlanta while living in Myrtle Beach, so had a 6 hour drive every few weeks. However, most of my driving is now short trips around town, and while this is the ultimate rig for long trips, it is not great for the driving I am currently doing. I love this truck and would love to keep it, but it makes more sense for me to let it go to someone who will use it the way it was intended, as it mostly sits in my driveway looking all sad and pathetic. This will make the next owner extremely happy for many years to come. I would honestly not hesitate to drive this truck from here to Alaska and back...multiple times in a row! I honestly believe this truck and engine will outlast me! See it run in this video: https://youtu.be/zz7pbXfmXF8
