Vehicle Detail

This is a no reserve auction for our 2013 Ford Escape Platinum 2wd. We have owned this car for the past 4+ years. We acquired the vehicle in a lease take-over when it was 18 months old – I think it had 16k miles on it then. We finished out the lease, then bought it. I truly love this Escape – always have - but I recently replaced it with a Tesla Model 3, and it’s time to pass it on to the next owner. I initially acquired this Escape for my wife, as we were expecting our first child. She used the car lightly to haul around our little lady, for about two years. Then we got pregnant with our second, so I upgraded her to a new Honda Pilot. I own a solar installation company and drive a work truck 90% of the time, but I kept the Escape as a secondary vehicle – call it a weekend car – for myself. It’s been used very little over the last couple years. Maybe 5k miles per year. I think the Escape Titanium literally has every option available for it’s model, short of 4wd. It has the 19” rims, panoramic sunroof, really nice white paint (not standard white), upgraded factory sound system with subwoofer, 2.0 Ecoboost, premium black leather interior, etc. It has 57,000 miles on it. Since my ownership it has had nothing but full synthetic oil changes at no longer than 6k miles per. I put two new front tires on it about 8k miles ago. The interior is a 9 out of 10 in my opinion. There is no noticeable blemishes on the black leather interior. I have to admit and convey that the heated seats in this ride are the best I’ve ever experienced. You can adjust them from 1-5 and I’ll tell you, at five, it’s like heat therapy at a good spa. I have a crappy lower back, and I love these seats. The 2.0 Ecoboost is a hell of an engine. I think it’s rated at 245hp, which really makes the Escape spunky. With the 19” rims, it really handles more like a car than a SUV. There is a somewhat considerable scare on the passenger rear corner of the bumper. This is due to my wife rubbing a short retaining wall while backing up slowly. Hilarious. I come out the next morning, notice the scrape, and ask her what happened. She acts surprised and says she may have rubbed up against something while backing up. Seriously? May have? It’s just a scrape, but come on lady, you felt it for sure, so drop the ‘may have’. Anyway, it was minor enough, and strictly cosmetic, that I chose not to pay a ton to have it repaired. I wanted her to continue to drive it, and have it as a reminder of how she dinged an otherwise perfectly conditioned exterior. There is also a door ding above the passenger rear wheel well which is noticeable. Other than these two items, the exterior is totally straight and in near perfect shape. There are two recalls that we received for this model that haven’t been addressed. I’ll include the paperwork I have for them in the sale. The brake pads have never been replaced, but they still feel totally solid. But, if I were the winning bidder, I’d go ahead and replace them. I don’t think the rotors will need replacement or turning, but you know how brakes guys are these days … they will make it sound like a simply brake pad replacement is useless without rotor turning (bogus). The vehicle runs and drives nearly perfect, and I mean that. The 2.0 Ecoboost is stronger than the displacement suggests, and the transmission shifts smoothly through all gears. Honestly, this vehicle is super straight and in great condition all around. You won’t be disappointed. Few other items … I have one working key fob. I have one additional new fob that hasn’t been programmed, which is included. I have clear title in-hand. The wheels are in great shape with very little curb rub, if any. The interior black leather is a 9.5 out of 10. I’m not aware of a single blemish. There is nothing on the vehicle that isn’t working, to the best of my knowledge. Here’s the deal with the auction and sale. I’ve bought and sold at least a dozen vehicles on Ebay. I own a corporation and ten vehicles total. I’m a firm believer that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. So, I’m starting this auction off at $1.00 and we’ll see where it goes. It’ll be a 10 day auction and the end will be at 9pm Eastern Time on a Sunday night. In my experience, this is the perfect auction end time, period. There will be lots of ‘watchers’ and lots of bidders. In the end, the car will sell for what it’s worth, by (my) definition. If you want it, be actively bidding during the last 10 minutes. In my experience, quality items surge 10% in active bidding in the last 10 minutes. Here are the requirements on your end, as the bidder. I won’t accept a winning bid from a bidder with less than a rating of 10 positive comments. Sorry to any eBay newbies, but that’s my policy. Upon winning the auction, you must make a $1,000 Paypal payment within 48 hours of the auction close. If you don’t, your winning bid will be dismissed and the next highest bidder will get the opportunity. The winning bidder then has 10 days to complete the sale. The Escape is titled in my corporation’s name, of which I am 100% owner. When the buyer comes to pick up the vehicle, I will require a $2,500 cashier check or wire transfer to my corporation. The balance after the Paypal deposit and the $2,500 will be made in either cash or cashier’s check to me as an individual. This payment arrangement is strictly for tax purposes on my end, but you need to accept it as a requirement in completing the transaction. I am a very experienced eBay-er and I will be very responsive in all questions asked through the eBay communication system. I will post all questions/answers that warrant it. For seriously interested folks, I will provide my phone number so that I can more easily answer their questions thoroughly. If you buy from out of state and fly in to pick up, I will work with you. You’ll want to fly into either OAK or SFO – they are both 45 minutes from me. If you want the car professionally shipped to you, I won’t arrange it, but I’ll do my best to work with your arrangements. I hope I’ve covered everything. Contact me with questions. HAPPY BIDDING !!
