Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1972 Datsun 240z. Car came from a friend who owned it for the last 40+ years (I believe he was the original owner), hasn't been registered in over 30 years. Upon his passing I was given the car. Unfortunately over the past 30 years, the car didn't always move around with him and the parts he removed with the intent of painting the car, also didn't stay with the car. The car is an excellent START for project rod, Structural reinforcement already done with the 6-point roll bar.. Car has been stripped down with the intent to complete painting, but never made it that far.Set up for SBC, with the motor in it (327 with 2.02 heads) ran previously to my knowledge, but hasn't run in 30+ years, I'd tear it down and go through it, or use another. 4 Speed transmission. This project would be ideal for someone with a donor car or with the resources to complete. Here's a huge high-point, there is no body rot (undercarriage may look like it in pics, but has paint coming off factory sealing), floor boards are solid, battery tray, posts, and tail are all free of rot. I tried to include common rot areas to show just how good of a condition this car is in. Subframe rails are STRAIGHT and without dents and dings that every other Z car has from decades of driving and hitting rocks, debris, etc.Long wheel studs, believe it had wheel spacers behind the wide BBS wheelsNo interior, but the Datsun dash is without cracks, no longer have doors, glass, etc.Misc parts, anything I have for it goes with itOne piece fiberglass front (fenders, nose, bumper)Fuel cell set up, needs completion.Buyer will need a trailer and is responsible for pickup. No BS, car needs a lot of parts but it has been the baby of someone for many years, and it shows, it's straight and sturdy. I have spent time in the DMV and confirmed that the car is no longer in the system....at all. DMV just needs to physically verify the VIN in order to produce a title. On Oct-15-18 at 06:44:15 PDT, seller added the following information: EDIT: VIN number is HLS30-10941 and I failed to notice after all this time, the rear quarter panels are lacking the air vents that reside behind the 240Z emblem, indicating that more than likely, this is an early model, 1069-1970/1. I was unable to confirm year with internet searches, so that is something you might be able to do. Just to clarify, the car no longer sits on the BBS wheels. The wheel centers were stolen and I'm only in possession of the inner and outer barrels as well as the sealing rings. Currently the car sits on basic 14" steel wheels. Some extra parts that were in the back of the car include, chrome headers for the V8, alternator and bracket, half shafts, stock headlights, water pumpOn Oct-15-18 at 11:17:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Edit, this is a 1970 Series 1 Datsun 240Z, based on feedback from potential buyers
