Vehicle Detail
Ok, here is the fourth of my collection I'm selling off. This is a 1958 VW Single Cab that we use to take our trash to the dump. But this isn't any normal single cab, this is a single cab with a type 4 engine, because why not? This is a fun little truck to drive, but perhaps a bit too much power. So what is in here? - A 1958 VW Single Cab with five wheels (four and the spare), all five tires have very few miles on them, I got them from Coker. They are vintage truck tires, slightly larger than stock - A 2.1 bus engine with a Jake Raby DTM shroud and 40mm Dellorto carbs. It has an electric fuel pump and external screw on oil filter - The bumpers need to be pounded out and are included - Converted to 12 volts What's wrong with it? - Rust, lots of rust. In the treasure chest, the rockers, dog legs, wheel arches, engine area, etc. See pictures. - Third gear pops out on occasion. Likely a bad synchro - No heat - No door cards - Horn does not work - Bumpers on not on it See the video for more information SingleCab Video will open in a new window Using the mobile app? CT does not issue titles for cars in CT this old. However, we also still have the Michigan title that was signed over to us. A viewer noticed that some break fluid appeared to be leaking from the front wheel. While I replaced the brake cylinders at the wheels a few years ago it looks like one is going bad. This is the second one I've had go bad since installing them. I'm suspecting the replacement brake cylinders quality are not up to snuff.
