Vehicle Detail

1976 BMW R-Series R 60/6 vintage motorcycle for sale. Low 20,930 (see photo - believed to be correct) miles for bike make and age. Numbers matching, 90% stock bike with original paint and pin striping, etc. Note: Metal side covers are from a /5 (...because they looked better then the original plastic stock ones), and front fender is from a /7 (...or so I was told). Clean, clear MD title in my name. Original owners manual included. Previously owned by a gentleman in CONN and had been sitting, barely used, in his garage since 1994. A shop in FLA went thru it mechanically, replaced fluids, etc, etc. I bought it from them a little while back and have thoroughly cleaned/detailed it, cleaned and flushed fuel tank, replaced both petcocks, added brand new maintenance-free battery, trickle charger pigtails, new correct under seat tool tray, OEM side mirrors, chrome seat trim, as well as a few other missing bits. Since I had planned to make this my daily rider, I also had a local (Bob's) BMW shop replace the rear tire/tube with new Metzeler LaserTec, replace air intake hose clamps, float bowl gaskets, etc, etc. Note: I did recently noticed that when bike is idling, and placed on its side stand, the left side float bowl drips a bit of gas. This did not do this prior to having the float bowl gaskets recently replaced. I have a feeling the new left one is not seated properly... Should only be a 5 minute fix. **PLEASE STUDY PHOTOS CAREFULLY AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION** Electrics (signals, lights, horn, etc.) work as they should. It is a bit "cosmetically challenged" with lots of patina, however, it is a 42 year old vintage bike. Glass in RPM tach is cracked on the inside only, and seat tray has extensive surface rust (see photos). Bike starts on push of the button, shifts, and goes down the road. Note: I've only put about 50 miles on it locally/throughout the neighborhood so I can't comment on how it would perform on long road trips, once it gets nice and warmed up. Some wrenching and fine-tuning may be required. Please feel free to reply with any additional questions you might have. Paypal accepted for non-refundable $500. deposit only, due within 24 hours of auction end. Remainder due within 7-10 days of auction end in the form of a certified US bank check. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but will help load if needed. Thanks for looking!
