2001 BMW 740i (Short Wheel Base) with 157K MilesVIN: WBAGG83401DN85211Sahara Beige Metallic w/ Sand Beige Montana Leather InteriorSold with clean Virginia title in my name. Last year of the E38 Sedan and this one has been taken good care of over the years according to the service records from all owners. The timing chain guides have been taken care of around 20K miles ago and the car runs very good. Has wear as you'd expect from a 17 year old vehicle, but has been maintained well from the records. The interior smells rich of the BMW leather smell. HAS NOT BEEN SMOKED IN! I just got back from a 500+ mile road trip in the car and averaged 24mpg with no issues at all. It is a great car to cruise in with good power on tap. Sale of the car will include 3 keys (1 full fob key), a full stack of service records (including the one for the timing chain guides being replaced - $5600 Repair!) and the owners manual. The paint matches good. There are dents present, many of which can be taken care of with PDR (see front fender, rear trunk lid, door closeups). Shows road rash on lower air dam and some chips on the front of the hood. Wheels are OEM M-Parallel wheels with minor curb rash. Good rubber all around (Hankooks on rear and Firestones on front). New front tires were installed this year and have little mileage on them. The front kidney grilles feel somewhat loose (they can move around).Interior It has aged well, but has the usual E38 wear: Shifter wood veneer has cracks, headliner/sunroof felt is sagging (moreso in the rear), some pixels out in the cluster. The leather in the seats are in very nice shape (driver seat could use some deep cleaning). Comes with the OEM BMW carpet floormats and BMW rubber floor mats (one hole has been worn thru on the driver all-weather mat). All electronics work in the car - even the sat navigation! AC Blows Nice and Cold! The first aid kit is still intact too. The front seats have the active massaging and heat function. Overall all the power seat functions work. The glovebox is plagued with the common E38 issue where the shocks have worn and one of the latches seems "off" where it shuts with a gap left (see photos). Driver side B pillar trim is loose. And the sides of the vinyl dash have come undone (see photos), but this is minor work to repair from E38 write-ups I've come across. Only electronic I have found that doesn't work is the rear trunk button (pushing the keyhole) has an intermittent issue where it does not work . The pneumatic latch shuts properly.Engine/Mechanics Engine and gearbox shift very smooth and linear. I park it in my garage regularly and it does not leave any leaks. Just passed VA inspection. I just had one of the power steering lines replaced (with BMW genuine part). Suspension is very nice and soft. There is one little creak that sounds at lower speeds (possibly endlink) and a slight shimmy until car warms (possibly thrust arms). At higher speeds it is very quiet. Currently windshield washer pump is inop, but I do have the replacement pump to accompany the sale.
