Vehicle Detail

Here we go again folks. The car sold this past Saturday but the buyer backed out because of some technicality in bringing it into Canada. U.S. Bidders only this time in case you know something he didn't. This is the "GAS MONKEY Falcon". Sold on the show in 2013, seen in two episodes. Rich bought the car and was going to cut it up and make a Gasser out of it but when he saw it didn't have the heart. This is what he called "The most original 1961 Falcon on the planet". When the car was purchased the dealer put clear plastic covers on the seats and they have never been taken off. The original owner didn't even put a radio in it when it was purchased but I am including one with the car in case you want to. It is a real deal 8,249 mile time capsule that needs a good home with somebody who has the knowledge to do all the mechanical work himself so it doesn't cost a million dollars to get it back in shape. The car runs and drives but needs work to be safe for the road. The engine runs well and does not overheat. Valve seals are shot from age and need to be replaced. Brake system needs to be gone through. I put five new Coker 650-13 correct width whitewalls on it this week. Comes with Factory Shop Manual, an Original Ford Radio (none has ever been installed, this was a radio delete car) and NOS Antenna, 4 new shocks and a car cover. Just as a note of clarification, the underside of the car is not rusty. As a former Ford Engineer I can explain that back in these days cars were about 1,800.00. To save cost they were not undercoated at the factory, they were done at the dealers as a value added item in the sale. Items like suspension, rear axle, springs, were not even painted at the factory then to save cost. the rusty springs and rear end are typical and I chose not to hide it by painting it before sale. This car is exactly as it came to the original owner. The front fenders and hood were repainted after a minor accident, no structural damage was evident when I looked at the car the first time. Minor left front apron hammer and dolly work about four inches back from the radiator support panel. If they shot the fenders and hood in Lacquer instead of enamel, the color difference is because it was probably done over fifty years ago. If nobody buys the car I am just going to keep it as a reference tool for other Falcon owners because it is so original.
