2004 BMW 330ci, E46, 6 Cylinder, 3.0L, Two Door Coupe 183,000 Miles. 5-speed Step-tronic automatic transmission. No Reserve. Highest end BMW 3 Series available at the time, loaded with features. Msytic Blue Metallic exterior, which is a very dark sparkling blue that sometimes looks black in the shade, and especially at night. Blacked out trim, no chrome. Light grey and black interior with wood grain dash. Overall very good condition, but needs some work. This car has been a great vehicle but it is not driven by the family anymore and is sitting under the carport. She needs a new home and a new love. Was my daily driver, until I gave it to the daughter to finish college in Houston. She drove it until graduation and now has a new career and a new car. This car was always maintained for my daughter's safety and convenience. Each time she told me about an issue, it went into the shop. Since the car has come back to Austin, I have spent the last couple of months taking inventory on various issues. The Good.Runs very well. No check engine light, no vacuum leaks. Strong, smooth motor and transmission. The cooling system is in good order, no water leaks. Clear title with no liens. Passes strict Harris and Travis county emissions test. Current inspection not due until Jan 2019. Paint in overall very good shape with some very small road rash chips on the front of the hood. Four small dings in the car body (see the photo montage above). Two at the rear edge of the driver's door, one at the rear edge on the driver's side near tail light, and one on the rear right side near gas tank fill cover. One other larger scratch and ding on the driver's side low, just behind the front tire with some light curb rash on the front left wheel. Air Conditioner works great, blows very cold. Has had most control bushings, rubber linkage, suspension items replaced. Interior in overall great shape for a car of this age. Always ran full synthetic motor oil and had regular oil changes. I am the second owner, and I had the transmission filter and fluid changed at the BMW dealer at 95k miles when I first got the car. Yes, BMW will change the transmission filter and fluid. This car has had a transmission pan drop with filter and full synthetic fluid change every ~40k miles since (one late last year, so three times now). Disclosure - Need to repair soon.The solenoid on the starter is going out. After more than a couple of turns of the motor, the solenoid kicks out. The starter will stop engaging the flywheel, and no longer turns the motor over. However, the car does start after a few tries. Other replacement or repair this car could use.Has a slight vibration on the right rear side of the car while accelerating through 25 to 35 mph, not heard or felt at any other driving speeds. My daughter told me that when this vibration issue started, her boyfriend noticed the subframe bushing was bad (had cracks in the rubber). So he took it to a friend's small shop in Houston and swapped out the subframe bushing. But, they could not get the new one to seat all the way. However, after the attempted install she said the vibration became much less noticeable. It does have a new bushing on the passenger's side, but it is about a quarter inch shy of being completely installed. This is apparently the issue with the vibration, and I recommend replacing both rear subframe bushings. Replacement of the front axle metal reinforcement plate, and front right side plastic wheel well cover parts. My daughter was forced off the road by another driver in Houston and hit a curb, breaking the lower front bumper and the front right wheel. Also breaking some of the plastic wheel well cover parts above the front right side tire and damaging the reinforcement protection plate under the front axle. This is why the car has the black aftermarket front bumper and black aftermarket wheels. Front end alignment, the tread on the front tires are more worn on the inside than the outside. Stock Business CD radio has a missing on/off knob and some of the controls are non-functional. The radio can still be turned on and off, and can listen to the HK sound system. But it should be replaced with another stock head unit or a steering wheel control compatible aftermarket radio / gps system. The oil pan gasket has a very slow leak (common e46 issue). Looses about one-quarter of a quart between oil changes.Adaptive headlight function disabled (adaptive system moves the headlights with turns to follow the road). The right side xenon headlight went out (had bad wires) and was replaced. The headlight comes on, but it is not the correct headlight part number for the adaptive system and the car has currently disabled the adaptive system. I still have the old headlight for part number reference, and will include it with the car. The right side rear window has a sticking motor. It will always open but, sometimes does not close until fiddled with. The headliner is starting to drop down, just behind the sunroof. Moderate to heavy driver's seat and armrest wear. The leather has some threads breaking and is showing small cracks. Especially on the high bolster section, from getting in and out of the car. The lumbar control on the driver's side is not working (the lumbar control switch on the seat seems to be bad). Driver's seat upper portion seat heater not working. (loose connection or bad upper heater pad?). All features on the passenger side seat are fully functional and in great shape. Some of this 330ci Features:Harmon Kardin speaker system with powered sub woofer. All works well except the head unit (see above)All power windows (two stage control, with one touch up/down) including the window pressure sensor safety feature. Which will stop the windows from going all the way up and drop the window down, if it detects something (fingers) in between the glass and frame.Power mirrors with passenger's side reverse auto down feature.Power seats, windows and mirrors work with the memory feature. Either program and push one of the three memory buttons on the driver's seat, or can be set to different memory positions automatically when using different key fobs.Leather sport bolster front seats with 12 way adjustable power. Adjustable side, lumbar and hamstring support.M Sport leather steering wheel with multi-function cruise and audio controls.Remote control for power locks and windows up/down. I have two starter keys and the valet key. One starter key has a bad battery with melted plastic. It will open the doors manually and will start the car, but will not function for auto unlock / window up / down.
