1997 BMW M3 Sedan Cosmos Black Metallic/Black 2 Owner Car -- First owner owned the car through 2015. This could quite possibly be the finest, most well cared for E36 M3 currently available in the country. It was originally purchased by an attorney in San Francisco and driven roughly 2,500 miles a year. Since day one, it has been garage kept. All original front windshield maintenance & BMW logo, rear side glass anti theft & radio stickers are in perfect condition. The factory installed paper circle and part number stickers are still on the front struts (very rare). These typically come off after driving the car in the rain. Upon receiving the car, it was taken to Tier Car Care (Tommy Ivic) in Pikesville, MD for a comprehensive inspection. Tommy has specialized in E30/36/46 M cars for over 15 years. He's also a track instructor for BMWCCA & PCA at VIR & Summit Point Raceway. His personal race car is a E36 M3. Our goal was to inspect and replace anything that would deteriorate over time. To our amazement, the brake lines, control arm bushings, trailing arm bushings and diff bushing were all in like new condition. There was zero dry-rot and had a great feel. What was surprising, is the original yellow brake pads were still on the rear of the car. This car had never been driven hard. The muffler rubber mounts were both cracked, so they were replaced. We were prepared to replace the O2 sensors, but they looked brand new. While the exhaust was off, we took a step that wasn't needed. I had a new Sachs OEM clutch from another car that had not been used, so why not, it was installed. While the trans was out, we replaced all 3 shifter bushings. The cooling system was inspected and everything looked in order. In June of 2018, 3 of the 4 wheels were completely refinished by Alloy Wheel Repair of Baltimore. Please note, the undercarriage pics were taken prior to the wheels getting refinished. All three had minor curb rash on the outside edge, no bends. There is a full size front wheel spare w/unused Michelin tire. The condition of the lug nuts made us all shake our heads. They were original and there was not one spec of corrosion anywhere on them. Tommy stated this was the cleanest example he's ever seen. In August 2018 the car received a new battery. The tires are Michelin Pilot Sports that are roughly 5/32nds. The interior is in excellent condition. As a non smoker, I can state the car has never been smoked in. The oem radio was replaced with a upgraded Kenwood CD/AM/FM receiver with bluetooth. The bluetooth mic is installed and functioning. The headliner is in great shape and does not have the sag like most. The front door leather inserts are the only thing that could use a bit of work. The glue has weakened and they are not tight against the panel (see pics). Everything functions as it should and the A/C was charged in 2018. This car is truly an exceptional example that has been delicately driven it's whole life. The seats look much better then the pictures show. Maryland had roughly 3 weeks of rain when I shot these and between the humidity & heat, they didn't photograph properly.
