During this era, the unit of measure used for luxury cars were great material and build quality, not software and obsolete features. For those reasons, this car offers simple beauty and luxury. Sparing the complications earns this car the nickname of the last great V8 by BMW in the industry. These cars regularly hit 200K miles; whereas, the next generation 7series start smoking at less than 100k miles and cost $5K to repair. This car has a rare color combo. Most 7series to sport this gorgeous Oxford Green color are applied to the long-wheelbased ones, and not the short-wheelbased Sport Packages. In addition to that, most green 7series are mated with the cream interior. So, this Oxford Green on Black 740i Sport is somewhat of a "unicorn" for the E38 chassis. Unfortunately paint is fading on one side of the car and on the front and rear bumper. We believe it is due to the fact that the previous owner parked the car near a sprinkler system compromising the clear coat. We adjusted the price while accounting for the the paint. It is up to the new owner whether he/she is okay with current condition, or may want to repaint the panels. With the exception of a few flaws, this vehicle is in pretty great shape for its' age and mileage. Engine and Transmission function as they should. All windows and the sunroof work as they should. One of the curtains is malfunctions. Glovebox locking mechanism is messed up. The seats are way above average but do show some signs of wear and tear. Overall, this car does have some cosmetic flaws but has a lot of life left in her and has no signs of slowing down. Good luck bidding.
