Vehicle Detail
1971 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible. 1 of about 1700 and the most powerful year hp wise. Bright Blue with white top and leather interior. 351 V8 Cleveland. Original everything. Matching numbers. AC (disconnected but have compressor and condenser) Power windows, power top, power disc brakes, power windows, power steering, am radio. Zero rust, I am limited for photos on this ad but can send pics underneath or whatever else you need. Interior is great although there is a little cracking in some parts of the leather from age. Original paint from 1971 so it’s not perfect. Although I don’t want to change it as it's nice to have the original paint. I am the 3rd owner. I bought it from a pilot gentleman who has owned it since 1973. He bought it from a rich friend of his in river oaks in Houston. It’s been a Houston car its entire life and has never been flooded. I have the Martin Report for it confirming it's current options. FMX automatic, air conditioning (Not currently hooked up, but have compressor, condenser and hoses that will come with it). Has shop manuals too. It an absolutely awesome car. This is a running and driving car. Freshly detailed, oil changed and coolant replaced. Has convertible cover, car cover. All lights work. Radio works. One of the best survivor cars I’ve seen. I drove it 120 miles, getting it up to 80 mph at a cruise and through some heavy Houston traffic and it was great. Didn't get hot at all. It has some cool documentation, user manuals. Spare tire. If you need shipping I know some places that do pretty cheap quotes. Feel free to text me 832 207 6800. Feel free to make an offer. Update - I drove it to the store and the radiator started leaking. I think it might have been when I had the fluids replaced recently and it did something after that. It’s leaking from the front of the radiator on the driver side. I found a replacement for $150 on eBay but don't want to bother. Although, I'm sure you could have it patched up for less. It also needs to be balanced. Will take this into consideration with offers.
